"Retribution? If there’s retribution, it should strike you first, you shaless, vile woman!"

"..."

"lanie Carpenter, do you even know what love is? Did you ever truly love Adrian Desmond?"

"Of course, I love him! I’ve adored him since I was very young. I worked hard to learn how to be a good wife, strived to make myself perfect, to be worthy of him... Then you ca along and ruined everything!" lanie Carpenter roared at Sienna Johnson, her voice thick with accusation.

"..."

"Sienna Johnson, it was you! You ruined my life! You ruined everything for !"

"Enough bickering, both of you!" Elliot Carpenter shouted.

"I didn’t ruin your life; you ruined it yourself! Don’t try to paint yourself as so noble and great. If you truly loved Adrian Desmond as much as you claim, then how could you sleep with another man? You even had a child with another man! That can’t be excused by claiming you were drunk or had a one-night fling. Getting pregnant from a single encounter is as rare as winning the lottery. It takes many attempts to conceive a child..."

"..."

"lanie Carpenter, I’m curious. You profess to love Adrian Desmond so deeply, yet how could you bear to sleep with a man you don’t love? Intimacy between a man and a woman should stem from mutual affection and devotion. So, what was going through your mind when you slept with another man?"

"All of you, just shut up! Do you hear ?"

Elliot Carpenter tried to stop the verbal battle between the two won, but they were too caught up in their fierce confrontation to listen. They glared at each other, lanie looking as if she wanted to stab Sienna on the spot.

"For a woman who can’t control her own body to speak of love is utterly ridiculous," Sienna Johnson mocked.

"And you? You think you’re so high and mighty? Didn’t you also have a fiancé? You almost got married! What right do you have to criticize ?"

"Yes, I had a fiancé, and I was about to get married! But don’t forget, by the ti Adrian Desmond chose to marry you, he and I had already broken up. Since we’d broken up, why couldn’t I have a fiancé? There are plenty of good n in the world; naturally, I’d find another after a breakup. I’m not like you, foolishly pinning all my hopes on one person!"

"You, you, you...!" lanie Carpenter was rendered speechless by Sienna Johnson’s sharp tongue.

Her affair with Jule was an indelible stain.

Back then, she was deeply in love with Adrian Desmond. She had been overjoyed when she finally went from being his fiancée to his wife. But all she received in return was even deeper coldness from him.

She had clearly been Adrian Desmond’s fiancée first; Sienna Johnson ca later. lanie wouldn’t have minded sharing him with Sienna, but Sienna couldn’t tolerate her. On the very day lanie married Adrian Desmond, Sienna took their child and left.

When Sienna Johnson left, Adrian Desmond completely lost it.

For six months, Adrian Desmond searched the world for Sienna Johnson, and lanie couldn’t even get to see him.

Her marriage felt like stagnant water, devoid of any light or hope. That was when Jule had seized his chance.

A single night of drunken pleasure, laced with forbidden temptation... Consud by resentnt towards Adrian Desmond, she had chosen this path of degradation, hoping to finally catch his attention.

But what did Adrian Desmond do?

When he found out about her affair with Jule, he actually wanted them to be together.

Only then did lanie Carpenter realize how desperate Adrian Desmond was to be rid of her, to make room for that woman, Sienna Johnson.

"Sienna Johnson, let’s see how long you can keep smiling!"

lanie Carpenter stared at Sienna Johnson with a strange smirk, then turned and stalked out of the dining room.

The atmosphere at the family banquet grew incredibly tense. Displeasure was etched on everyone’s faces, and Elliot Carpenter was beside himself with anger.

Finally, Adrian Desmond spoke, "Uncle, my woman can be tactless. Please don’t take her words to heart."

"Adrian Desmond, you’ve married a ’fine’ woman!"

Elliot Carpenter glared coldly at Sienna Johnson, emphasizing the word "fine" with heavy sarcasm.

Sienna Johnson feigned ignorance, retorting, "Of course, I’m a fine woman; otherwise, Adrian Desmond wouldn’t have married . Adrian Desmond, isn’t that right?"

"Yes!"

Geral Powell toyed with his wine glass, observing the beautiful woman who was as cunning as a fox. He was beginning to understand why Adrian Desmond would abandon lanie Carpenter for this one.

Compared to Sienna Johnson, lanie Carpenter seed utterly bland and uninteresting.

Adrian Desmond raised his glass to Elliot Carpenter, saying, "Uncle, this drink is for you. Happy birthday, I wish you good health and a long life!"

Elliot Carpenter ignored him. Adrian Desmond drank his wine by himself. A servant brought another bottle of wine and refilled Adrian Desmond’s empty glass.

"Uncle, I offer you this drink. This one is my apology to you. I broke my promise. I’ve let you down!"

Adrian Desmond tilted his head back and drained the glass. "Aside from not marrying lanie Carpenter, my other promises to her still stand—as long as she doesn’t go too far!"

Elliot Carpenter sneered. "Adrian Desmond, how exactly has lanie crossed the line? Today, it was *your* woman who struck my daughter! lanie Carpenter is my only daughter! Your woman striking her is a direct insult to —it’s like slapping in the face!"

"Uncle, Devin Desmond is not my son!"

The servant refilled Adrian Desmond’s glass again. Adrian raised it towards his uncle, saying, "Uncle, it’s getting late. We should head back now."

With a final tilt of his head, Adrian Desmond finished the last glass of wine.

Sienna Johnson knew Adrian Desmond deeply respected his uncle and genuinely wanted to get along with him. However, with lanie Carpenter in the picture, they could never interact like normal relatives.

"Let’s go," Adrian Desmond said to Sienna Johnson.

"Alright."

Adrian Desmond picked up his daughter, who had fallen fast asleep in his arms, stood up, and they prepared to leave.

Before they left, Sienna Johnson glanced at Elliot Carpenter, who t her gaze with a dark, somber expression.

She wondered what Elliot Carpenter had been like in the past; regardless, she couldn’t bring herself to like the man he was now.

Geral Powell personally escorted them out, walking them all the way to the door.

"’We’re all family, after all. Grudges shouldn’t be held overnight. Let’s just forget what happened tonight,’ Geral Powell attempted to diate, but no one responded to him.

"Adrian Desmond, let’s get a drink soti when you’re free."

Adrian Desmond wasn’t particularly taken with this stranger. He rely gave a slight nod before leaving with his wife and daughter.

"Take care on your way," Geral Powell waved at their departing car. Sienna Johnson couldn’t help but take a closer look at the man.

Their relationship with the Carpenter family was clearly strained, yet this man seed to be actively trying to nd the rift between the two families.

Why? Sienna Johnson couldn’t fathom this man’s intentions.

Through the car window, Geral Powell smiled at Sienna Johnson. She didn’t respond, rely averting her gaze as the car started. The family finally drove away from that place of conflict.

Sienna Johnson carefully placed the hair samples from Elliot Carpenter and lanie Carpenter into her bag. I truly hope these test results prove Elliot Carpenter is an impostor, she thought.

If Elliot Carpenter really is an impostor, we can completely cut ties with the Carpenter family. That would save us so much trouble.
