lly held her hand, encouraging her, "Then go find Sixth Master and tell him everything. Let him see through Sienna Johnson’s malice."
"Yes! I should tell Sixth Brother! It’s only because Sixth Brother can’t see Sienna Johnson’s true nature that he’s been deceived by her."
People tend to listen to what they want to hear. It wasn’t that lly’s words were particularly insightful, but they were exactly what lanie Carpenter wanted to hear, wanted to say, and wanted to do.
"Last ti you made those West Sword Fish Balls for Sixth Master, he loved them. Why not go and make so West Sword Fish Balls for Sixth Master as a late-night snack."
"Is he not resting?"
"Sixth Master’s been busy with work lately. When I arrived, I saw he was still in the study."
lanie’s mind started to work, her eyes glinting with restlessness, "What’s the point if Sixth Brother likes to eat them? Sienna Johnson is definitely clinging to Sixth Brother now. Even if I go there, she’ll have soone stop from seeing him."
The little glint in lanie’s eyes dimd.
lly shook her hand gently, saying, "Sienna Johnson isn’t there."
"How do you know?"
"That secretary nad Vivian Abbey had a fight with Brett Jacobs, and Madam is comforting her at Vivian’s place. When I ca, I even heard that Madam is going to stay there."
"Really?"
lly hooked her little finger and pulled gently, "Whoever lies is a puppy!"
"Lila, you’re the best. If I drive Sienna Johnson away and beco Sixth Brother’s wife, I’ll make you the chief housekeeper of Desmond Manor," lanie promised.
lly sneered internally, thinking how this empty promise ant she’d never beco Desmond Manor’s chief housekeeper, not even in her next life.
"It’s a deal then."
"Whoever lies is a puppy!"
...
Windridge Pavilion, a small courtyard within Desmond Manor, where Vivian Abbey currently lives alone.
Sienna Johnson and Vivian Abbey usually t at the office, so Vivian was always dressed as a professional working woman. In her green pleated skirt and white three-quarter sleeve knit top, she looked quite different now.
"I was looking forward to the two of you getting married candy, how did your relationship fall apart?"
Vivian fiddled with her fingers, her smile forced, "What of it? My cousin was supposed to get married the day after she broke up. Love these days is like fast food, it cos quickly and leaves quickly."
Being a mature urban woman, she saw romance clearly, not about to dramatize a breakup.
"No chance of getting married, really?"
Vivian responded firmly, "I have my principles and persistence. Love shouldn’t be about mutual compromise but should be about harmonious complentarity.
He and I... we’re not from the sa country, there are many value differences between us."
To love soone, no reason is needed;
Not to love soone, there are a thousand reasons.
Sienna knew Vivian’s character, a rational and ticulous person, and trusted that she could handle her feelings well, so she didn’t persuade her further.
After all, only those involved in a relationship truly know its trials and tribulations.
"Madam..." lly, having just left lanie Carpenter, ca to report to Sienna Johnson imdiately.
"Have you taken care of everything?"
"Yes."
"Good, noted. Keep an eye out for . If Sixth Master doesn’t behave, co back and tell ." Sienna ordered.
lly looked into the woman’s calm yet cold eyes and replied, "Yes, Madam."
"Go on."
"Yes."
lly turned and left, heading to the study to monitor Adrian Desmond and lanie Carpenter.
Sienna Johnson conversed with lly in the Amwan language, which Vivian didn’t understand, nor did she prying questioningly.
"President Johnson, are you planning to sleep now?"
Sienna had suddenly ntioned she wanted to sleep over which startled Vivian slightly, secretly guessing: Did she have a fight with Sixth Master?
"I’ll wait a bit longer; I slept too much during the day, not sleepy." Sienna was still waiting for the outco.
Who knew if lanie Carpenter might resort to just poison but maybe also Aphrodisiac?!
"President Johnson, are you planning to return to Sileria City?" Vivian asked.
Previously, Sienna would have unhesitatingly answered: Of course, return. But with so many attachnts here, she really couldn’t leave Adrian Desmond behind.
"I’ll decide after having the child. Anyway, in my current state, I can’t work." Sienna said, caressing her belly, her voice low.
"You don’t have to worry about the company, President Johnson. With a good system in place, you can direct things remotely and it’ll still operate."
Sienna sighed, "You don’t have to hide it from ; it’s not as simple as you say. If a company’s boss doesn’t show up for a long ti, the shareholders get uneasy...
Still, I truly can’t leave here.
I’ll just have to take it one step at a ti."
"Mm." Vivian looked at Sienna, thought a bit, then said, "President Johnson, how about I return to Sileria City tomorrow?"
"You’ve only been here a few days; why leave so soon?"
"I originally ca to Abyanabad for two things: to report back to you on work; the other, naturally, regarding Brett Jacobs. Now both things are done, there’s no point in staying here.
With you not at the company, plenty of issues big and small arise, I should head back."
"Alright."
"Shall I leave early tomorrow then?"
"Leaving in such a hurry?"
"The climate here is hot, the food is entirely different from Sileria City, and there’s the language barrier. I should head back sooner." Vivian offered up a heap of excuses.
Sienna gave her a look as if trying to see through what she was currently thinking. Vivian couldn’t withstand Sienna’s scrutiny and lowered her head.
