"We leave on the 6th of next month."
Next month on the 6th... This was a date etched deep into Sienna Johnson’s mory. Today was the 19th, and the 6th of next month was the day of Adrian Desmond and lanie Carpenter’s wedding.
Sienna’s face fell grim. She spat out sarcastically, "Is there a reason we have to leave on the 6th? Don’t tell you think I want to stay here and attend Adrian Desmond’s and lanie Carpenter’s ceremony before leaving? Let make this crystal clear, I have absolutely zero interest in attending their wedding. Change the date. I want to leave before their wedding day."
She couldn’t wait to get out of there.
"With Adrian’s social influence, there will be a huge crowd at the wedding. That will be the best ti for us to leave. Adrian will surely be with lanie in the bridal chamber after the dayti wedding ceremony. By then, we’ll have a whole day and night to ourselves," Lucas Robertson analyzed for Sienna.
Sienna wasn’t a woman without judgnt. When Lucas said this, it clicked for her. The day of Adrian’s wedding would definitely be chaotic with all the people around, and Adrian, as the groom, would be busiest. That would be the best ti to leave.
Within a day and a night, before Adrian and lanie could finish their wedding night, she should be far off, safe and sound.
"Fine! I’ll wait until that day." She’d waited this long; a few more days wouldn’t matter.
...
"Is there anything I need to prepare?" asked Sienna.
"No! Just don’t blow our cover."
"I won’t!"
Despite assuring Lucas, Sienna was still concerned and continued cautiously, "Are you sure you can get us out?"
"If you lack trust in , feel free to find soone else." Lucas’s reply left Sienna at a loss for words.
Lucas was quite cold and hard to get along with. His words were few and far between. If he could get away with saying one word, he absolutely wouldn’t say two.
"I got it."
...
Sienna did not wish to return early, so she directed the yacht towards Unnad Island.
The people on the island were surprised to see a heavily pregnant Sienna. She ignored the various expressions on the rugged n’s faces and, with Kiki’s assistance, disembarked the ship and stepped onto the island.
"Madam, what brings you here?"
Looking at Alphonse, Sienna cheerfully exclaid, "I heard you’re going to be a father soon, congratulations!"
After Adrian, Walter Klein, and the others had left the island, Alphonse was temporarily in charge of everything there. Sienna didn’t have much contact with Alphonse and didn’t particularly care for him either. Of course, no woman who lived in a monogamous society would look kindly on a man who had ten wives.
Alphonse was surprised that Sienna knew about this. Scratching his head and smiling innocently, he asked, "Madam, how did you know about this?"
"I heard it from Tatu."
"Are Sixth Master and Tatu doing well?"
"Yes, particularly Sixth Master. He’s about to marry Miss Carpenter, and things couldn’t be any better," Sienna remarked sarcastically.
Having experienced Sienna’s temper before, Alphonse awkwardly laughed, not quite knowing how to respond.
Not far away, the black horse that Sienna often rode was grazing. The top of a distant mountain had a clearing where Xavier Young used to teach her close-quarter combat.
Because of her, Xavier had been exiled. His brother had also left consequently.
"Do you know anything about Xavier Young?"
On Unnad Island, Xavier Young’s na was now taboo, not spoken of even in private conversation. Alphonse was aware of the affair that had transpired between Xavier Young and Sienna. Glancing at Sienna’s belly, he said, annoyed, "Madam, now that you are Sixth Master’s woman, you should stop thinking of other n. Whether Xavier Young is alive or dead is none of your concern."
Sienna looked at Alphonse, a mocking smile on her lips. "Alphonse, you’re mistaken," she said. "Sixth Master’s woman is lanie Carpenter. I’m not!"
While they had been speaking, another cargo ship had just docked. The ship’s anchor was lowered, securing it in place. From the ship, a bald man, his arms covered in tattoos and dressed in a black tank top, jumped down. The mont he saw Sienna, he was riveted.
Noticing Sienna looking at him, the bald man rubbed his shaved head and flashed her a set of white teeth. Sienna stared back at him without a hint of friendly acknowledgnt.
"Madam, don’t wander around; there are guests on the island today."
"Alright."
Alphonse went to greet the bald man. The bald man’s attention was still on Sienna, and he appeared to be asking Alphonse about her. Alphonse did not look too pleased.
"Mai, who are all these people?" Timid Kiki found the bald man quite intimidating, not at all looking like a good person.
Sienna walked towards the black horse, the horse that she could no longer ride now due to her pregnancy. As she stroked its head, it whinnied affectionately upon seeing her and nuzzled its head against her face...
"Black Beauty, I was afraid you’d forgotten ." Black Beauty was the na Sienna had given to this horse of noble lineage.
Excited by her presence, Black Beauty snorted loudly. Fearing he might knock into her, Sienna made sure to keep so distance. As she moved aside, she saw a wooden box that had just been brought down from the ship fall and split open, revealing guns inside. Sienna was taken aback.
Box after box, all securely sealed and identical to the one that had just broken open, were being offloaded. Could all the boxes contain guns?
She knew Adrian was very wealthy, but she had never bothered to inquire about his business. Could he be smuggling arms?
Sienna looked a little pale. Everything about Adrian was beyond her comprehension as an ordinary woman. But no matter—she was leaving anyway. Whether Adrian was an arms dealer or a murderer, all of it would soon have nothing to do with her.
"Let’s go. I’m tired." Pulling Kiki’s hand, Sienna left the dock.
"Mai, why is your hand so cold?" Holding onto Sienna’s hand, Kiki noticed sothing unusual.
"Kiki, who is Adrian really?"
"Sixth Master is very powerful." Kiki didn’t know much about Adrian either. She only knew a bit more because she often spent ti with the servants from the Desmond family and thus was better inford than Sienna.
"So you know what business he’s involved in?" Sienna couldn’t contain her curiosity and asked.
This was a man who owned his own island and possessed a grand mansion in Abyanabad. The mansion was rumored to have been built with bricks and tiles air-freighted from the Desmond family’s ancestral ho in Orienta. He also bestowed her with jewelry and, whenever pleased, had casually gifted her a yacht worth over a hundred million. anwhile, the Johnson family, one of the wealthiest in Sileria City, possessed assets amounting to just over a billion.
"...I’ve heard Sixth Master has his hands in lots of businesses—nightclubs, casinos, hotels, marine fleets... The way I heard the servants talking, any profitable business in Abyanabad had so sort of involvent with Sixth Master... They said the money he’s made could never be spent in several lifetis. Oh, and they ntioned he has a treasure trove filled with gold, silver, and jewels..."
