They reached the door, and the doors in the hallway were also locked, blocking the path of Adrian Desmond and Sienna Johnson.
Adrian turned his head and said to Horace Marshall, "Open the door!"
Horace refused to comply, "No way! I don’t know if there are Special Police in the hallway. What if they’re hiding there, and as soon as I open the door, they rush in?"
Adrian took off his coat and threw it on the ground, then walked towards Horace, his leather shoes making a clacking sound on the floor.
"What are you going to do?"
"Open the door, or I’ll knock you down and let the police take care of you! Choose one!"
"Don’t co any closer, or I’ll shoot!"
Horace ca with a determination to die today. He didn’t want to kill, but if pushed too far, he would have no choice.
When Adrian was just three ters away, Horace pulled the trigger and shot at Adrian, who suddenly rushed forward like a gust of wind, grabbing his stout wrist and lifting it, causing the gun to fire at the ceiling, breaking the ceiling light.
The light went out, and the room dimd considerably.
"Ah..."
The crowd scread, chaos ensued, and soone rushed to the door, smashing the glass door with a chair.
Sienna tried to stay close to the corner to avoid being jostled, but a pregnant woman unfortunately got knocked to the ground.
"My stomach... it hurts..." The pregnant woman lay on the floor, her face pale as a sheet.
Sienna saw blood flowing from the woman’s lower body; her belly had just hit the wooden floor directly. It must be... a miscarriage.
Adrian and Horace were entangled in a struggle, not expecting Horace to know martial arts. Horace fought in a suicidal manner, several tis trying to detonate the bomb on his body. Adrian, distracted and unsettled, surprisingly didn’t subdue Horace quickly and even took a few punches.
"Courting death!"
Adrian was enraged, like an angry lion wanting to tear his opponent to pieces.
Sienna hid in the corner, quietly observing the fight, carefully protecting herself from being jostled.
The hall descended into chaos as everyone surged toward the hallway door, trying to break out.
The police heard the commotion and quickly gathered in the hallway. They used an iron hamr to break the glass on the door, opened it, and rushed in.
"Don’t move, hands up!" the police shouted, holding up guns.
Horace, montarily distracted, allowed Adrian to seize the opportunity, gather his strength, and punch him hard in the face, knocking Horace unconscious on the ground.
Dozens of guns were pointed at Adrian, but Adrian’s gaze searched for Sienna. Seeing her hiding behind the green plants in the corner, he brushed aside the guns aid at him and walked towards Sienna.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his gaze scanning her up and down.
Sienna smiled slightly, "No, when I realized sothing was wrong, I hid."
"Good thing you’re not one of those who beco clueless for three years during pregnancy. You knew to hide at a ti like this!"
The pregnant woman on the ground was crying. Sienna saw a bloody mass flow from between the woman’s legs and quickly looked away, unwilling to witness the tragic scene.
Adrian noticed her discomfort and shifted to block Sienna’s view.
"Help, my baby... my baby..." The pregnant woman also knew her child was gone.
"..."
"My baby, my baby..."
Regardless of Horace’s intentions, this hostage situation ca at the cost of an unborn child from a pregnant woman.
"No matter what, such extre asures should never be used," Sienna said disapprovingly.
Adrian replied, "Yeah, stupid. He should have found that heart, and if it had been transplanted into soone else, he should have dug it out, kidnapped the doctor, and forced them to transplant it into his son.
If he did that, his son’s surgery would probably be over by now."
Sienna: ...
Horace lay on the ground unconscious, his plan failed.
Horace had already been handcuffed by the police, and a bomb disposal expert was carefully removing the bomb from his body.
"Let’s go."
"Mm."
Sienna clutched Adrian’s arm tightly as they walked outside.
The hospital was filled with police, and without them, many dia and family mbers would have rushed in, making the scene even more chaotic.
Adrian stopped a young nurse and said, "My wife is about to give birth. Where is Dr. Mitchell?"
Dr. Mitchell is Sienna Johnson’s attending physician and would also deliver her baby.
The nurse glanced at Sienna’s face, knowing she was about to give birth, and said to them, "Don’t run around. I’ll go find Dr. Mitchell and be back soon."
"Thank you."
"Sit down and rest for a while."
Adrian helped Sienna sit on the long bench in the hallway. Sienna kept biting her lip.
"Is it very painful?"
He knew won were in a lot of pain when giving birth.
"It’s okay." She gave a pale smile.
Adrian held her hand tightly. At this mont, he didn’t know what to do, his body tense, his face not looking good either.
Rembering her own experience, Sienna reminded Adrian, "The hospital is chaotic right now. When it’s ti for delivery, accompany inside and keep an eye on the baby. Make sure no one swaps our baby."
Adrian’s thumb stroked her hand a few tis, assuring her, "Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone pretend to be our son."
"I’m very selfish and only want to love my own child."
"I also only love my own child."
Dr. Mitchell soon arrived with the nurse. They also brought a bed over, and Sienna was helped onto it and wheeled into the delivery room.
Adrian was pushed aside, watching as Sienna was wheeled away, pausing montarily before striding forward to catch up.
