However, Yu Shu still wasn’t convinced. “Do you know her enough to believe her?” She scoffed. “You’re an invigilator, and it’s your duty not to leave the classroom. Are you going to disobey that order just because some girl told you to?”
With a roll of her eyes, the older woman went to Yao Tang’s side and pulled her out of her seat.
Yao Tang smirked.
She stood up and whirled toward her. “Care to make a bet then?”
Even if her tone was neither firm nor arrogant, it still made Yu Shu stagger back in surprise. It was as if the young woman knew something she didn’t. She could feel all eyes were on her, and she bit the insides of her cheeks.

Unwilling to be outdone, she glared. “What kind of place do you think this is?” she demanded. “A casino? This is a petition. We shouldn’t make any bets.”
Yao Tang didn’t answer. Instead, she fixed her gaze on the clock. “Let’s make a bet. The bell will ring at 2:02, wouldn’t it? Let’s see if the clock is accurate.”
Yao Ran pursed her lips.
Yu Shu, not wanting to be put to shame, clenched her fists. The last thing she wanted was to be embarrassed by this country bumpkin. “Fine. Let’s make a bet. If the clock is correct, then you’ll be disqualified from the exam. Not only that, but you’ll be labeled as a cheater,” she snapped. “You’ll never be able to participate in any petition at the school ever again.”
Even the other examinees were surprised.
The other invigilators couldn’t help but frown. Wasn’t the punishment a little bit too severe? If this incident was recorded as cheating, Yao Tang wouldn’t be able to participate in any future petition. Not only that, but it would be a permanent mark on her record!
This would follow her for the rest of her life.
It was just too inappropriate. However, they couldn’t say anything anymore. After all, Yao Tang had already agreed.
The young woman stared at the student who had slandered her. “Weren’t you the one who said that I was late?” she demanded. “Do you still remember the exact time I arrived?”
As soon as the boy heard her, he lowered his head.

Everyone furrowed his eyebrows.
Was the clock broken? Yu Shu breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m sure that the loudspeaker is broken,” she slowly said.
She rolled her eyes at Yao Tang. “Don’t act so smug.”
However, before they could all resume, the announcement sounded, “The exam papers will be distributed now. It is exactly 2:02. Invigilators, please distribute the papers.”
Yu Shu paled. She glanced at the clock on the wall, only to see that it was 2:02:31.
What the hell?
She was wrong?
If Yao Tang had asked the invigilator to take a look, then perhaps it wouldn’t have turned out this way. In fact, Yu Shucould’ve easily lied to get away with it.
But now..
She was arrogant enough to make a bet, and she lost. Everyone in the hall stared at her with mockery shining in their eyes.
