“I just want to help my daughter fulfill her dream.”
As soon as he heard this, the doctor softened. “If the second surgery is a success, it would only take half a year or around a year at the latest for her to recover.”
“After this recovery period, she would be able to walk around normally,” he added.
As soon as she heard this, Qin Man pursed her lips. Just half a year?
She’d actually be wasting half a year doing nothing.

However, upon seeing the other options they had, it was still quite acceptable. Better than nothing, she’d say.
Besides, Yao Ran had just gotten out of the emergency room. Once they’ve been discharged, she’d try her best to find the best doctor out there to perform the surgery. That way, her recovery time would be much faster.
“Then what’s the success rate of your surgery?” She glanced up at the doctor. “It’s not that risky, right?”
“It will be,” he replied. “The success rate for the surgery is around 70-80%.”
70-80%?
There was a large possibility of failure. If the surgeon failed then they would face many serious plications in the future. She drummed her fingertips on the fabric of her clothes.
It would take a lot of time and effort on the surgeon’s part.
“Well, this surgery has just been pleted, so we can talk about the next surgery some other time.” The doctor waved his hand dismissively.
“We’re really not in a hurry to decide. In fact, I do encourage you to do your best in dissuading the patient from taking this surgery. The risk for plications is quite high.”
However, Qin Man wasn’t even listening to the doctor’s words anymore. In fact, she was just nodding along as she headed into Yao Ran’s ward.
The surgery had no need for general anesthesia.
However, Yao Ran, unable to stand her own anxiety and pain, fainted all on her own. By the time she opened her eyes, she realized that she was already in bed.
She glanced to her side to see Qin Man.
Tears were rolling down her cheeks.
“Mom—”
“What happened, Ranran? Did the Yang family do anything to you? Tell me! If they did, I’ll make sure that they’ll pay for everything that they’ve done to you.”
Qin Man snapped, gnashing her teeth together.
The Yao Family was a respectable family in City A, yet the Yang Family didn’t give them any face.
Ranran was Yang Nian’s bride-to-be. Should she not be more respected?
Yao Ran gazed at her lap, aggrieved. “Young Master Yanghad already said that my cousin is his fiancée. I’m just…” She gulped. “I’m just his friend.”
“So it’s her again!” Qin Man gritted her teeth. “She even managed to seduce her sister’s fiancé! How tasteless! How could things turn out like this? I’ve never expected him to be swayed by such a…menace!”
Suddenly, a thought occurred to the older woman, and she glanced at her daughter.
“Why did he even announce it in the banquet?” Qin Man blinked. “I thought that he’d be keeping a low profile of his engagement.”
She remembered that when Grandma Yao had brought up the topic, Yang Nian simply dismissed it by saying he wanted the engagement to be private.
Why would he mention it at the banquet?
Wasn’t that strange?
If Yang Nian had announced his engagement with Yao Ranin front of everybody at the banquet, she wouldn’t have had any objections. But now that Yao Tangwas involved, she couldn’t help but be hateful over the announcement.
“Did Young Master Yang say it to everyone at the banquet? Are there a lot of people?”
Yao Ran’s face darkened. “Yes.”
The last glimmer of hope in her heart was long gone. Qin Man felt her entire mind go blank as she clenched the sheets under her palm.
“Why did he do this?”
“This matter…You were his partner! Why did it bee Yao Tang?”
The older woman gritted her teeth. “Even if he wants to change his bride, shouldn’t he ask the Yao Family if they agreed? Does he think we’re pushovers?”
After saying this, Qin Man grabbed her phone and was about to call the Yang Family.
However, before she could, Yao Ran weakly stretched out her hand. “Mom, please don’t interfere…”
“Don’t interfere?”
