Stella Monroe slowly opened her eyes, her gaze icy and venomous as she looked at Sumr Monroe.
Sumr pretended she didn’t see it.
She had anticipated that Henry Stanton would either put Clarissa Stanton under house arrest or send her sowhere else, but she didn’t expect it to be the Sanctum.
The Sanctum is quite a place, and Clarissa Stanton will certainly endure plenty of hardships there.
Just then, the servant ca downstairs, having packed a large number of bags, at least five or six suitcases.
Sumr leisurely said, "Do you really need to take this much to the Sanctum? Shouldn’t Aunt have plenty of clothes and stuff there?"
Stella glowered at her venomously, saying, "The weather’s about to get colder, so by taking more clothes, at least she won’t catch cold."
However, Henry interjected, "Sadie is right, everything is available there, including winter clothes, so there’s no need to bring these things. And also, no electronic devices are needed; if she spends the whole day playing gas there, then she’s not there to reflect but to vacation!"
"But..."
Stella was about to argue on behalf of Clarissa, but Henry shot her a cold glance: "I thought you realized she was wrong and wanted her to reflect seriously, isn’t that so? Was that slap earlier just for show?"
Stella was completely silenced and had to change her tone: "I was just worried about the child getting sick... Since you said so, let’s just leave it."
Thus, the servant reduced everything to just one suitcase.
When Clarissa got to the Sanctum and saw that the luggage only contained intimate clothing, she was about to collapse.
Phone! She needed her phone!
"Inform my mother quickly to send my phone over!"
The servant was about to speak when Henry’s sister, Audrey Stanton, slowly walked out from inside.
She was representing the spiritual path, her temples already streaked with gray, and seeing Clarissa yelling, her brow furrowed imdiately.
"This is a sacred place; what are you doing!"
Clarissa shivered upon seeing Audrey.
Before Audrey embraced the spiritual life, she was very strict with her and her mother. Compared to her mom, Clarissa preferred Luna Monroe. Later, for unknown reasons, Audrey ca directly to the Sanctum to practice retreat.
"A-Aunt..." Clarissa greeted her, trembling.
Audrey cast a cold glance at her, saying, "Co in and pay your respects first."
Clarissa felt so desperate that she wished she could die; she only hoped that Stella would figure out a way to bring her back soon.
But recalling that slap from Stella, Clarissa fell into deeper despair.
Mom must have abandoned her; she abandoned her own daughter!
She had made up her mind; if Mom didn’t co to fetch her, she... would no longer acknowledge her as her mother!
Stanton Manor.
Sumr slipped the letters she had intercepted from the servant into her pocket.
These were the letters Stella wrote to Clarissa Stanton.
She had given the servant so money, instructing him to tell Stella that the letters had been delivered and to bring all future letters from Stella to her.
The servant, getting money from both sides for nothing, was naturally happy to help Sumr.
"Well then, Young Miss, I’ll take my leave first."
"Go ahead." Sumr watched the servant leave and then took out the letter from her pocket to read.
The handwriting was ssy; Stella must be extrely anxious at the mont.
Her precious daughter being sent to the Sanctum for retreat—it’s no surprise she’s anxious, but once she calms down, she’ll surely co up with a plan to deal with her, so Sumr needed to prepare herself well.
Sumr strained to decipher the letter; the contents were simple, explaining that she slapped Clarissa to vent Henry’s anger, and as for going to the Sanctum, she would soon bring her back, and advised Clarissa to behave and not cause trouble with her aunt.
This information was useless; it was only at the end of the letter that Sumr found sothing useful—
