Sumr laughed coldly, "Dad... you really are... surprising ."
Henry Stanton looked at her coldly, "So, you an, you don’t want to go?"
Sumr gave Henry Stanton a deep look and shook her head, "No, I’ll go."
Henry Stanton instantly brightened up with joy.
"Really?"
"Mm..." she nodded, once again resuming her usual obedient deanor.
But her eyes had lost all warmth and the last trace of sincerity.
This was all destroyed by Henry Stanton himself.
However, Henry Stanton didn’t notice the change in Sumr’s eyes. He was genuinely moved and patted Sumr on the shoulder, saying, "I knew you would agree. You’re the most sensible and obedient daughter, unlike that girl Clarissa. From now on, I’ll only love you!"
There were no waves in Sumr’s heart.
She asked calmly, "When? What place?"
Henry Stanton quickly said, "The suite on the top floor of Crestfall Hotel. This room card was hard-earned after a night’s work. Young Master Knight is still attending a banquet in a Crestfall restaurant. I’ve already arranged with those at the banquet, you just need to wait in the room."
After saying this, Henry Stanton suddenly realized sothing and glanced at Sumr, "Almost forgot, you need to change your clothes too, your usual clothes are too plain... that won’t do. But there’s no ti, just wear anything to the hotel, I’ll have soone deliver it to the suite."
Sumr suddenly understood, Henry Stanton wasn’t busy with official business until this late, but was instead busy getting a room card for Damian Knight.
So... that’s how it is.
She thought her heart had long turned to ashes for Henry Stanton, but at this mont, it felt like a sharp needle pricked it.
Turns out, no matter how many tis you’re hurt, you never get used to it.
Sumr’s gaze suddenly caught Henry Stanton’s white hair.
She rembered sothing Damian Knight had said and reached for Henry’s hair, "Dad, you have a strand of white hair here, let pluck it for you."
Henry instinctively wanted to refuse, but seeing as Sumr was being so "understanding," he cooperated by lowering his head, letting her pluck out the white strand.
Once she plucked it out, he smiled through the pain, "Actually, there’s no need to pluck it out. It’s normal for to have white hair at my age. But if you succeed tonight, maybe I’d look a few years younger."
Sumr quietly pocketed the hair and pretended to nod affectionately, "Don’t worry, Dad. I won’t disappoint your expectations. You’ve been so good to , how could I not repay you?"
Henry was imnsely touched, his eyes almost welling up with tears.
He extended his arms and embraced Sumr, "My good daughter... you’ve been wronged for the sake of this family!"
Sumr accepted Henry’s embrace with an expressionless face, a boundless disgust growing inside.
She reminded him coldly, "Dad, if we don’t hurry, Young Master Knight will reach the room before I do."
"Oh, right, right!" Henry released Sumr and started calling for the driver, ordering the servant to prepare clothes, bustling around, busy as a bee, even alerting Stella Monroe.
"Where are you going at this late hour?"
Stella appeared in the living room in her pajamas, her eyes suspiciously darting between Sumr and Henry.
Seeing Stella reminded Henry of the trouble Clarissa Stanton had caused.
He said to her sternly, "It’s none of your business, go back to your room and sleep! Also, you’re not allowed to visit Clarissa, lest she sees you and stops reflecting on her actions, only thinking about coming back!"
Stella had been planning to visit Audrey Stanton tomorrow to see Clarissa. Hearing this, her face imdiately turned sour.
"Husband, she is our..."
