Sumr Monroe instinctively turned her head to look at him, only to see Damian Knight wrapped in nothing but a towel around his waist, his muscular physique fully exposed.
Especially that sexy V-line, with a droplet of water sliding down it, disappearing into the towel wrapped around his lower body.
Sumr’s face instantly flushed red; she averted her gaze with a guilty conscience and asked, "Why aren’t you wearing clothes?"
"Didn’t bring any," Damian said as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
"I’ll go open the door..." Sumr didn’t want to et Damian’s eyes and lifted her foot to head for the door.
But the next mont, she was pulled into Damian’s embrace.
The heat from his body pressed against her back instantly, a scorching, ambiguous warmth.
Sumr’s mind exploded with a "boom," and she reflexively pushed Damian away, jumping back, wrapping her arms around herself, and looked at Damian in horror.
"What are you trying to do?!"
Damian paused, his expression faltering; he had just panicked and pulled her into his embrace without any other intention.
But in that embrace, he realized just how slender her waist was, so the temperature he had worked hard to bring down with a cold shower started to rise again.
He said irritably, "What could I be trying to do? I was just stopping you, don’t overthink it."
Sumr cast a suspicious glance at Damian and asked, "Why are you stopping ?"
"They won’t get here that quickly; you go into the bedroom first, and I’ll check who it is." As Damian spoke, he nodded toward the bedroom, indicating for her to hide inside.
Sumr paused, nodded, and quickly walked into the bedroom.
The room still had remnants of Damian’s bath soap scent.
Unconsciously, Damian’s image appeared in her mind.
But the next mont, Sumr shook her head vigorously, trying to shake off the incoherent thoughts.
This was definitely not the ti to be thinking about such things.
She gently pressed her ear to the door, listening to the sounds outside.
She heard Damian open the door and coldly ask, "What’s the matter this late?"
Sumr’s nerves tightened; it wasn’t one of Damian’s people!
Luckily, Damian was cautious; otherwise, things might have been exposed.
As she sighed in relief, she heard the deep voice of a middle-aged man.
"I just ca to see if you’ve had too much to drink and brought so hangover dicine for you."
"No need, I haven’t drunk too much. I have important matters to attend to; don’t disturb again."
Damian’s tone was icy, without any fluctuation.
But what he said was enough to cause misunderstanding.
"Alright, alright! I won’t disturb your rest, then I’ll go rest as well." The man’s voice held an unmistakable trace of amusent.
Afterward, Sumr heard the sound of the door closing.
She waited a couple of seconds before stepping out, quietly asking, "Who was it?"
"A guy involved with process design, often collaborates with your family’s company. He seems to be the one your dad arranged to bring you here." Damian glanced at her and asked, "Are you okay?"
"What?" Sumr didn’t understand what he ant and looked puzzled.
Damian’s thin lips opened and closed several tis before he cleared his throat and said, "Being set up like this by your own father, I’m asking if it hurts you."
Silly girl, forcing him to say it out loud!
"It doesn’t," Sumr shook her head, speaking with an indifferent face, "That’s just the kind of person he is; I’ve seen through him long ago."
Damian let out a mocking laugh, clearly not believing her words.
He shook the paper in his hand, saying, "If it doesn’t hurt, why are you checking this?"
