Sumr Monroe didn’t mind the two people’s unpleasant expressions.
She maintained her politeness, nodded at them after stepping inside, and greeted them: "Hello Mrs. Stone, did you want to speak with about sothing?"
Susan Stone’s brow furrowed deeply, and she ca straight to the point: "I’m aware of the ss between you and my son. Tell , how much money will it take for you to leave him?"
Sumr was slightly stunned; she hadn’t expected Susan to be so direct, with no regard for her mother’s past relationship.
Given Susan’s cold attitude, Sumr didn’t bother with any more courtesy.
She sat down across from Susan and emotionlessly repeated Susan’s words: "The ss between your son and ? Mrs. Stone, I have a poor mory, which one are you referring to? Is it the ti I saved Damian Knight’s life on the island, or when I saved him again after the building blew up two days ago?"
Susan Stone gave an incredulous stare: "What nonsense are you talking about? When did you ever save my son?"
Willow Grant couldn’t hold back and chid in: "Miss, don’t throw around lies that can be easily debunked."
Sumr lifted her gaze and coolly glanced at Willow.
That glance was soft yet cold, making Willow’s back shiver. Growing up in a sheltered environnt, she’d never encountered such eyes.
For a mont, Willow realized she was dumbstruck, intimidated by that single look.
Sumr gave Willow no further attention and addressed Susan directly: "Mrs. Stone, if you suspect I’m lying, feel free to call Damian Knight for verification. See if these incidents between us are fake."
Susan Stone gritted her teeth in exasperation.
This girl was sharp-tongued and nothing like the silent, thoughtful person she had mistaken her for.
Susan no longer wanted to waste words with Sumr and said directly: "That young man is so bewitched by you he’s lost his way. Of course, whatever you say goes. I don’t want to quarrel with you over nonsense. Na your price and never appear before my son again!"
As Susan spoke, she added: "You should be aware of your status. With your background, you’re not fit for my son, let alone joining the Knight Family. If you’re sensible, take the money and leave now, or you’ll end up with nothing!"
Sumr laughed.
