Susan Stone gave her a deep look and said, "Now that you’ve co back, just live your life in peace. Don’t chase the shadows of the past. Sotis, not knowing is better. Those who are gone can’t co back to life, even if you know the truth."
Sumr Monroe clenched her fists, "At least I can help my mom take revenge!"
"If she has a spirit in heaven, she would want you to live your own life well."
Sumr shook her head, "The reason I’ve returned is to find out the truth and avenge my mom. If I can’t even do this as her child, then my mom gave birth to in vain."
Susan Stone looked at Sumr with a hint of admiration in her eyes.
But then she waved her hand helplessly, "But in this matter, I really can’t help. Even ten years ago, I found nothing when I investigated, let alone now. Any evidence that should exist is long gone."
Sumr never expected to get a definite answer from Susan Stone, but just knowing that her mom wasn’t the type to commit suicide was enough.
"The second question." Sumr took out two sheets of paper from her pocket and pushed them in front of Susan Stone again.
This ti, Susan Stone wasn’t impatient at all; she picked them up and read them carefully.
When her eyes scanned the bottom line, Susan Stone’s eyes widened with shock as she looked at Sumr.
This ti, her gaze was even more shocked than when she found out Sumr was Luna Monroe’s daughter.
"You..." Susan Stone’s voice trembled, "You’re not Henry Stanton’s biological daughter?"
"That’s right." Sumr nodded, "I’m not Henry Stanton’s biological daughter, but I am my mom’s biological daughter. I read my mom’s diary. I want to know, who is my biological father? You were my mom’s good friend; you must know sothing, right?"
Susan Stone’s face turned ashen as if she’d heard sothing extrely frightening.
She nodded, then vehently shook her head, "I don’t know, I know nothing. Your mom was always a person of few words; she wouldn’t tell those things."
Sumr frowned, "Mrs. Stone, your expression has already betrayed you. What do you truly know? Why are you so afraid?"
Susan Stone glanced around in terror, then made a hushing gesture, "Shh! Don’t say anymore! If you want to live well, never ntion this matter again!"
As Susan spoke, she directly put the paternity test on the incense burner and burned it to ashes.
Sumr couldn’t stop her and asked angrily, "Mrs. Stone, what are you doing?!"
Susan grabbed her hand until the flas had completely consud the paper before speaking again, "I’m doing this for your own good! Child, listen to , you must not investigate this any further!"
Sumr’s gaze grew more suspicious, and as she wanted to ask more, Susan Stone covered her mouth.
Susan shook her head vigorously, the fear in her eyes was genuine.
Seeing Susan’s reaction, Sumr knew she wouldn’t be able to get anything out of her this ti.
She nodded, indicating she wouldn’t bring it up again, and only then did Susan release her hold.
But Susan clearly didn’t want to stay any longer; she picked up her bag hurriedly and said, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going."
"Wait, Mrs. Stone, I have a third question!" Sumr held onto Susan.
Susan imdiately covered her ears, "I don’t know, I know nothing!"
Sumr let go with a laugh, "Don’t worry, this question isn’t related to the last one."
Only then did Susan, half in doubt, lower her hands from her ears.
