Clarissa Stanton’s lips curved into what she assud was a refined smile, but the next mont her brain caught up, and the smile froze awkwardly.
Wha... what?
Sumr Monroe??
Did she hear that right?
There was also a stir of whispering from the audience below.
"Who is Sumr Monroe?"
"Isn’t Clarissa Stanton the champion? Why isn’t she the spokesperson? This year, Midnight Coffee House isn’t following the usual tradition of choosing the champion as a spokesperson?"
"Even if not the champion, it should be one of the top three, yet neither the runner-up nor the second runner-up are nad Sumr Monroe."
Stella Monroe almost couldn’t sit still in her seat, turning her head angrily to look at Sumr Monroe in the row behind her.
But Sumr Monroe was confused too.
Why did Damian Knight make her the spokesperson for the coffee house?
"Sumr!" Stella Monroe asked through gritted teeth, "What have you done?! Why are you being so underhanded with your sister?!"
Stella Monroe’s eyes were so wide they looked as if they might pop out.
If it weren’t a public setting, Sumr Monroe believed Stella Monroe could devour her whole.
Henry Stanton was also stunned, but he quickly smiled.
To him, both were his daughters; whoever beca spokesperson would earn him money. What’s the difference?
Henry Stanton set aside so of his biases towards Sumr Monroe, smiling as he said, "Sadie, why didn’t you tell your dad about this wonderful news beforehand?"
Sumr felt cold inside.
When he upgraded to first-class and left her alone in economy, how could he forget he was her father?
No matter how nauseated she felt inside, Sumr showed no sign of it, shrugging innocently, "Dad, I just found out about it too."
"You’re lying!" Stella Monroe said through clenched teeth, "You did it on purpose!"
She intentionally waited until now to say, letting her and Clarissa be joyfully disappointed!
She hated it!
"Stella!" Henry Stanton said disapprovingly, "What are you doing? We’re a family; why separate you from ? Sadie and Clarissa are both our children, all the sa. Stop it."
Stella Monroe’s chest heaved with rage, but with Henry Stanton beside her, she couldn’t continue.
Sumr Monroe glanced at Stella Monroe’s expression, slightly curving her lips.
She wasn’t particularly keen on this spokesperson role, too troubleso, and it delayed her revenge, but seeing Stella’s hateful gaze now, she suddenly felt this was also revenge.
Making Stella unhappy, crushing Clarissa Stanton, this family would fall apart.
Once the family is broken, cracks appear, and with cracks, she can burrow in and find sothing.
Just as she intended!
Stella Monroe saw the intention in Sumr’s smile and was even more sure Sumr was deliberate!
She couldn’t let Sumr take the spokesperson role, stealing her precious daughter’s chance!
Just then, the host spoke after communicating with Damian Knight, holding the microphone, "Ms. Sumr Monroe, please co to the stage."
Sumr Monroe looked towards the stage, her gaze eting Damian Knight’s.
Damian Knight’s dark eyes revealed no emotion; Sumr couldn’t guess his thoughts.
But since the host asked, she had no choice but to get up and walk towards the stage.
Sumr Monroe walked step by step towards the stage, everyone seeing a slender silhouette.
Just from her silhouette, people felt her grace, as though she were a fluttering butterfly.
Yet, the aura surrounding her felt like a queen’s arrival, compelling respect.
On the stage, Clarissa Stanton watched Sumr, even though she wore no makeup, still radiating brilliance, like the sun, yet pure and serene like the crescent moon.
She hated so much she wished she could grind her molars.
After Sumr Monroe reached the stage, she slowly turned around.
Those whose hearts thumped just seeing her silhouette now stared in awe.
Beautiful! So beautiful!
