Sumr Monroe was looking into the distance, as if she hadn’t heard him. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief and say to Old Madam Stanton, "It’s about ti, Mom, let’s head out. If we leave early, we’ll get ho just in ti for dinner."
"Alright, let’s go, let’s go." Old Madam Stanton massaged her temples and wearily got into the car.
She felt like she had eaten a bit too much today, her stomach was uncomfortable, she needed a good nap in the car.
Sumr Monroe silently followed Old Madam Stanton into the car.
The car quickly started and headed towards the Crestfall highway.
But this place is very remote, taking three hours to reach the highway, and the mountain roads are winding, anyone prone to motion sickness can’t handle it, let alone the elderly.
This is one reason why Old Madam Stanton rarely leaves here to go to Crestfall.
Sure enough, not long after the car started moving, Old Madam Stanton began to complain of feeling unwell.
Henry Stanton was sitting in the passenger seat, and upon hearing Old Madam Stanton’s discomfort, he imdiately took out the prepared motion sickness dicine and gave it to her.
Neither of them noticed that when Sumr Monroe saw that motion sickness pill, the corners of her mouth slightly curled up.
Indeed, she had added a bit of "seasoning" to the dumplings. This thing wouldn’t harm anyone, but combined with motion sickness dicine, it only makes the queasy person feel even worse.
Sumr Monroe had guessed early on that Old Madam Stanton would get car sick, knowing Henry Stanton would prepare motion sickness pills for her, so she set a little trap in advance.
This was a small lesson for Old Madam Stanton from Sumr Monroe.
An elder who doesn’t respect themselves deserves a bit of punishnt.
Or perhaps, it’s the price she pays for making others feed pigs.
Before long, after a sharp turn, Old Madam Stanton was seen clutching the car window, beginning to vomit outside.
"Ugh—"
The sound of vomiting echoed throughout the car.
Sumr Monroe hadn’t eaten dumplings and had taken motion sickness dicine, so she wasn’t affected by Old Madam Stanton at all, and slept soundly.
However, it was Henry Stanton, hearing Old Madam Stanton’s vomiting sounds, who started to feel uncomfortable too and quickly took a motion sickness pill.
But Henry Stanton hadn’t eaten dumplings in the morning, so his reaction wasn’t severe, and after taking the dicine, his motion sickness symptoms eased a lot, only feeling drowsy and lacking energy.
After about half an hour, Old Madam Stanton had nothing left to puke, only water ca out.
She gasped in pain, "Henry, stop the car, I-I can’t take it anymore..."
Henry Stanton jolted awake from his half-asleep state, imdiately instructing the driver to pull over, and worriedly helped Old Madam Stanton out of the car.
It was a startling sight when Henry Stanton helped Old Madam Stanton out, her face had turned a frightening purple.
She really looked like she couldn’t make it.
Henry Stanton was very scared, giving her water and pinching her philtrum, sweating with anxiety.
Yet after quite a while, Old Madam Stanton’s symptoms didn’t ease, her lips pale without a hint of color.
Henry Stanton anxiously paced in circles on the spot.
This place is far from villages or shops, there’s no hospital at all.
Henry Stanton mulled things over, glanced at Sumr Monroe, and upon eting her, grabbed her, "Sadie, haven’t you learned so dical skills from Dr. Jason? Quickly, think of a way to ease your grandmother’s pain."
Sumr Monroe, pretending to be worried on the side but thinking inwardly that Henry Stanton still had one rit: filial piety.
Yet in the next mont, she heard Henry Stanton say, "The family’s mining business still needs your grandmother to oversee it, she can’t have any accidents!"
"..." Sumr Monroe was speechless.
She had overestimated Henry Stanton.
Sumr Monroe shook her head helplessly, "Dad, I just learned a few first aid tricks from Teacher Jason, this... if Grandma had a stroke I could help, but she’s just carsick, these symptoms don’t match."
