Damian Knight’s face turned dark as he said to Sumr Monroe, "She is soone I sent to protect you. Could you please take care of her for a while? Her identity... is rather special, and it’s best not to let others know. I’ll return as soon as I finish handling things here."
"Alright." Sumr Monroe didn’t say much more, directly hung up the phone, grabbed a chair, and carefully helped the woman from the wall down.
Suddenly having a seriously injured woman at ho wasn’t sothing she could handle openly. Moreover, Damian Knight emphasized the woman’s special status, so Sumr Monroe couldn’t directly take her to Henry Stanton.
Thinking it over, she supported the woman as they bypassed the back garden, heading towards the servants’ quarters.
On the way, they happened to encounter Leah Lowell. Sumr quickly called to her, "This is my friend. She should stay out of sight. I’ll place her in your room. Could you take care of her for a mont? I’ll go grab so dicine for her injuries."
Leah Lowell quickly nodded and helped the woman into her room.
Fortunately, there was no one in the servants’ quarters at the mont, so the woman entered Leah’s room without issue.
There aren’t many servants at Stanton Manor, but there are a lot of rooms, so everyone has a single room. As long as Leah is careful, she won’t be discovered.
This is why Sumr Monroe decided to place the woman in Leah’s room.
It wasn’t long before Sumr, avoiding attention, carried a dical kit covered by her coat into Leah’s room.
Leah Lowell was wiping the woman’s wounds, but the woman was very wary and wouldn’t take off her clothes.
Only when Sumr Monroe entered did the woman’s expression relax slightly, and she respectfully called out, "Miss Monroe."
The woman started to rise from the bed as she spoke, but Sumr Monroe quickly pressed her shoulders down, saying, "No need to get up. We’ll handle your wounds first."
The woman gazed towards Leah Lowell.
Feeling her wariness, Sumr Monroe explained, "She’s with , very reliable. You don’t have to worry."
The woman nodded, then cooperated with Leah in removing her clothes.
As the clothes ca off, Leah let out a startled cry, "Ah—"
Sumr Monroe raised her eyes to see the woman’s body was covered in multiple wounds of different sizes, the most striking being at her waist.
A piece of glass, an inch wide, was deeply embedded in the woman’s waist, with blood continuously seeping out from there.
Leah Lowell was too frightened to look, covering her eyes and turning her head away.
anwhile, Sumr Monroe’s expression didn’t change as she carefully examined the woman’s wound. She then took a pill from the dical kit and handed it to the woman, saying, "This is for pain relief. It works faster than over-the-counter painkillers. I didn’t bring any injectable ones, so we have to make do with this, okay?"
The woman shook her head fearlessly, saying, "It’s okay, I can go without it. I’m not afraid of pain."
"That’s not an option. Just because you’re not afraid of pain doesn’t an your body isn’t. You’ve already lost too much strength; you need to take this, or you’ll pass out."
After Sumr Monroe finished speaking, the woman nodded and swallowed the pill dryly.
Sumr Monroe calculated the ti, estimating the dication had taken effect, then put on gloves and gripped the piece of glass, saying, "I’m going to pull it out now. It will still hurt a bit, so hang in there."
"Okay!" The woman nodded and bit on the cloth Sumr Monroe had prepared for her.
Leah Lowell didn’t dare look at the two the entire ti, focusing on her own feet instead.
She only heard a ripping sound as Sumr Monroe threw the glass into the trash bin in front of her, followed by a flurry of movents.
When Leah gathered the courage to peek, Sumr Monroe had already stitched up the woman’s wound.
