When Evan Hughes handed him the divorce agreent, there was a check inside the envelope.
Evan Hughes said at the ti that it would be enough for a lifeti of spending, implying it contained quite a bit of money.
But only by signing the divorce agreent could he obtain that check...

Mason Monroe felt like his head was going to explode.
But then he ca up with an idea, got up, and went out to find the butler.
"Butler, where did you put that divorce agreent?"
The butler gave Mason Monroe a suspicious look and asked, "Why? Did you agree to the divorce, Young Master Monroe?"
"No, no, it’s not..." Mason Monroe waved his hands repeatedly and said, "I just want to see if Coralie would really get better if she divorced . If so, I’m willing to divorce... Give that envelope, and I’ll try it in front of Coralie."
The butler gave Mason Monroe a deep, shocked look. Suddenly, he felt that Mason Monroe truly had a sincere heart for the young lady.

He took the check and went to the bank to the counter to exchange it for cash.
As Mason Monroe pushed the check through the window, he said, "I’d like to withdraw 2.5 million."
The person at the counter glanced at the check, showed a standard smile, and said, "I’m sorry, sir, this is a fixed-amount check, not a blank one, and you can only withdraw the specified amount."
"Okay, okay, whatever works, just transfer it all to my account."
"Alright." The counter lady nodded, and after so operations, she said, "The money from the check has all been transferred to your account, please check it."
Mason Monroe imdiately took out his phone to check the balance, which showed 550,000.
Mason Monroe asked in shock, "Why is it only 500,000?"
The counter lady nodded and said, "Yes, sir, the fixed amount on the check is 500,000, and it has all been transferred to your account."
Unable to believe it, Mason Monroe checked with the counter repeatedly until he confird the amount on the check was indeed 500,000. His face instantly turned extrely ugly, as if he had eaten a pile of excrent.
So what Evan Hughes called "enough money for a lifeti" was just 500,000?
The renovation cost of just any room in their house exceeded 500,000!
Damn it, Evan Hughes was insulting him! That old bastard!
Mason Monroe cursed and swore as he left the bank.
On the other side, Evan Hughes suddenly heard a text ssage notification sound in his study.
He casually picked up his phone, and upon seeing the check prepared for Mason Monroe had been cashed, his brows imdiately furrowed tightly.
He imdiately called the butler to ask what had happened.
The butler quickly recounted everything Mason Monroe said verbatim. Then he too found it odd, shaking his head, saying, "That’s strange, how did he cash the check directly in such a short ti, especially since it’s rush hour now, and the ntal hospital isn’t even open yet?"
After the butler finished speaking, he saw Evan Hughes’s face turn as black as an abyss, resembling The Hell King.
