However, when Susan Stone shifted her gaze from Damian Knight to Berg, she found that Berg’s face was dark and looked extrely unpleasant.

On stage, Willow Grant couldn’t clearly see Berg’s expression. When she heard him, her heart leapt to her throat, almost jumping out of her mouth.
Mr. Berg wanted to accept her as his student!
Inside, Willow Grant frantically scread with excitent.
anwhile, Susan Stone nervously clenched her sleeves with apprehension.
She couldn’t understand where Willow had played wrong, to the point where the other pianists fell asleep, and Mr. Berg’s expression was as sour as if he had eaten sothing foul.
Susan was scared and wanted to change the subject, but it was too late. Berg sneered dismissively after asking a rhetorical question and then said, "Madam, are you joking with ? With her level, even my worst student could play this with their feet!"
The auditorium was silent, and everyone present heard the remark clearly.
Though Berg spoke in English, Crestfall University students were not clueless enough to not understand him.
Berg ant that Willow Grant was not worthy to be accepted as his student.
The student who was previously scolded as an "armchair critic" puffed out his chest and said, "What did I say? I might not play ’Rebirth,’ but that doesn’t an I haven’t heard it. Willow Grant did play terribly!"

Anger and disappointnt clouded Willow’s judgnt, and she raised the microphone to loudly question Berg: "Mr. Locke Berg! I was playing ’Rebirth,’ with a world-class difficulty. Why must you be so strict with this piece? You know, fewer than twenty people in the world can play it!"
Locke Berg chuckled; he always spoke directly and was even a bit harsh. Initially, he planned to say less out of respect for "Star River," but with Willow’s retort, he had no choice but to respond.
Locke Berg said loudly, "Your country, Cathaysia, has a phrase ’not knowing what’s good for oneself.’ I think it suits you perfectly."
Willow’s face darkened as Locke Berg continued, "Do you know what the newspapers an by ’fewer than twenty people can play this piece’? It’s not just about finishing the piece, but bringing out its soul. From you, I only see a rigid sheet of music with no soul. If even soone like you can claim to ’play Rebirth,’ then at least two hundred million people worldwide could play this piece!"
