"Stop the car!"
Stella Monroe, who was sitting in the back seat with Sumr Monroe, suddenly spoke up.
Sumr looked over, puzzled, and saw that Stella’s face was pale, showing a very uncomfortable expression.
Sumr, skilled in dicine, could diagnose with rely a glance, and she knew that Stella wasn’t pretending.
She furrowed her brows slightly and, with a concerned expression, asked, "Aunt, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Henry Stanton, sitting in the front passenger seat, also turned his head, asking with a complicated expression, "What’s the matter with you?"
Stella covered her mouth with her hand and said uncomfortably, "I might be car sick, let’s stop the car for a mont."
Henry gave the driver a look, and the driver imdiately found a place by the roadside to stop.
As soon as the car stopped, Stella rushed out of the car, gripping a street lamp on the roadside and vomiting intensely.
At the end, Stella was only vomiting water, and she seed so exhausted that she needed to hold onto the street lamp to stand.
Henry frowned slightly but eventually went over to support Stella, asking in bewildernt, "What’s happening? You never used to get car sick."
Stella wiped the corner of her mouth with her sleeve and weakly said, "Maybe I’m too devastated today; it’s affecting my health. Let’s just go ho, and you can call the private doctor to check on ."
Sumr stood silently watching Stella, a thought vaguely forming in her mind, but she quickly dismissed it.
However, Sumr then said, "I think there’s no need to call a private doctor. There’s a hospital a few hundred ters ahead, let’s go directly there to check."
She wanted to see if Stella was only car sick or if she was up to sothing else.
No matter what it was, the hospital might reveal sothing.
"Is that necessary..." Stella hesitated and looked at Henry, saying, "You and Sadie have also had a tiring morning. It’s just car sickness, nothing serious. I can just roll down the window on the way back."
As soon as Stella finished speaking, she turned and retched again, clutching the street lamp.
Nothing ca out this ti, but her complexion was even paler.
Henry sighed with frustration and said, "You’re vomiting so severely, it’s better not to keep sitting in the car. There’s a hospital just ahead, let’s walk there and have you checked out. You never had car sickness before; suddenly feeling like this might an sothing’s wrong with your health."
"Alright then..." Stella nodded apologetically and weakly smiled, relying on Henry’s arm for support as she staggered forward.
Sumr followed closely behind, her mind racing.
She had a premonition that Stella’s sudden condition might be linked to what she saw Felix Jennings give Stella in the psychiatric hospital’s surveillance video.
But Sumr said nothing, just silently followed behind.
Whatever was going on, they’d find out at the hospital.
...
The short few hundred ters took Stella more than ten minutes to cover.
The three, plus the driver, went directly to the ergency room.
There weren’t many patients in this hospital, and Stella’s face was ashen enough to frighten, prompting two nurses to imdiately take her for an examination, while Sumr and Henry waited at the ergency room door.
Sumr glanced sideways at Henry, noticing his brows knit tightly, concern written all over his face.
No doubt, Henry was starting to doubt his loyalty to Stella.
This morning, she had Damian Knight ask Isaac Ross to spread rumors about Stella and Felix Jennings among the psychiatric hospital staff, and it seed the effort was paying off.
At that mont, Sumr noticed the hospital’s na on the wall, marked with the Ross Family crest.
