Sumr looked at Isaac, sowhat curiously asking, "Who is it?"
Isaac said a na, and Sumr instantly understood.
"Oh, it’s her..."
She had almost forgotten that person’s existence, didn’t expect her to be a snake lurking in the dark, ready to strike at any mont.
Isaac sent his investigation results over to Damian Knight.
At that mont, Sumr saw Assistant Shelton’s figure.
He was carrying bags in his hands, his forehead covered in sweat, looking as if he’d run all the way here.
In fact, Assistant Shelton had really run all the way here.
When the car reached Second Crestfall Bridge, there was a traffic jam, and since he was anxious about Damian Knight’s instruction, "The food shouldn’t get cold before arrival," he decided to grit his teeth and run over.
Unexpectedly, running over was actually faster than driving.
Sumr listened to Assistant Shelton’s description and empathetically handed over a bottle of mineral water.
"I’m sorry to trouble you to co all this way. But, I’ve actually already had lunch."
She had eaten enthusiastically at Clarissa Stanton’s funeral banquet, and her stomach was still bloated.
"This, but..."
Assistant Shelton awkwardly said, "Young Master Knight ntioned that treating patients must be exhausting, and he instructed to make sure you’ve eaten so I can report back."
Isaac, standing by with a smirk, crossed his arms, helping Assistant Shelton: "Boss, you’d better eat, or else he won’t be able to report back. That guy Damian is quite strict with his employees."
Assistant Shelton nodded repeatedly, with an exaggerated expression saying, "The CEO is really fierce!"
"...Really?"
She had never seen Damian Knight be fierce.
But the expressionless Damian Knight did look a bit intimidating, just that she wasn’t scared.
Helplessly, Sumr had to nod, "Alright, I’ll eat a little then."
Isaac, who hadn’t eaten much all day, volunteered, "I’ll grab a bite too."
The three of them headed to the hospital’s cafeteria together, with Assistant Shelton nanny-like, setting out the food one by one.
Sumr glanced upwards, feeling a bit dizzy.
The dozen or so dishes were all made with nourishing ingredients, from old chicken soup to blood-enriching pig liver, or protein-rich swamp loaches; not only was there nothing she liked, it was all stuff she didn’t like.
"Can’t I skip it?"
Sumr wanted to negotiate with Assistant Shelton, but when she turned to look at him, her words stopped.
Seeing Assistant Shelton with tearful eyes, looking ready to cry.
"Alright, alright, I’ll eat, I’ll eat, isn’t that enough?"
With no choice, Sumr had to pick up a bowl and swallow the food like dicine.
At last, Assistant Shelton stopped looking tearful, and eagerly ladled chicken soup for her.
The future lady boss must be served with care and well-fed.
...
anwhile.
Crestfall Grand Hotel.
Knight Group executives walked to the front desk, and the originally noisy dia section imdiately stirred up, soone standing to ask, "Sir, the press conference is scheduled, why hasn’t Mr. Knight appeared yet?"
Calmly, the executive picked up the microphone and said, "Everyone, please be patient. We have prepared tea and refreshnts for you. The press conference needs to be postponed for about an hour, please bear with us a bit longer."
Being Knight Group, most dia had no choice but to sit back down patiently.
At this mont, an uninvited independent dia person stood up and said, "Is Mr. Knight sensing the situation isn’t right, refusing to co out? Even if he dares not show up, he should give all our custors an explanation, right? He can’t keep avoiding like this. How long is he planning to hide?"
