Rachel Ross truly couldn’t understand why Damian Knight had to be so ruthless.
The Knight and Ross families had been longti friends. Even if the situation at the Midnight Coffee House was her fault, it hadn’t succeeded. Why did Damian have to continually push, watching their family fall into an abyss?
"I don’t understand, what deep grudge do we have that makes you treat this way?" Rachel said as she wept, her eyes swollen like grapes.
Damian Knight’s gaze was indifferent as he said, "Because you provoked soone you shouldn’t have."
Rachel still didn’t understand and simply said, "I know I shouldn’t have plotted against you. I realize my mistake now. If you let out, I’ll compensate you for all your losses, even give you half of our family’s assets."
Leo Ross hurriedly nodded and added, "Yes, yes, not just half. If you want, I’ll give you all my assets, as long as you let my daughter out."
However, Damian chuckled softly and said, "You’re mistaken. Provoking doesn’t matter; I’m not one to hold personal grudges."
Rachel was even more confused.
"Then why don’t you..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Rachel suddenly realized sothing.
Her heart skipped a beat as she thought of soone.
She hesitantly asked, "Are you doing this to our family because of... Sumr Monroe?"
Damian raised an eyebrow slightly and curled his lips with indifference and affection.
But Rachel knew that this affection wasn’t directed at her.
She only heard Damian say calmly, "If it were just , I could forgive you for the sake of the Ross family. But if you provoked her... Sorry, you’ve targeted the wrong person. Anyone who dares to harm her, I won’t let go!"
His dealings with the Ross family were not about the Midnight Coffee House but entirely because Rachel had frad and conspired against Sumr Monroe, having soone attack her.
That was all.
Rachel’s face went deathly pale.
Once her suspicions were confird, a chilling coldness filled her heart along with overwhelming anger and resentnt.
"She’s not worthy of you at all!" Rachel scread uncontrollably, resisting all of Leo’s attempts to restrain her, cursing, "She’s just a country bumpkin from the countryside, no matter how much you like her, you can’t change the fact that she’s unworthy of you."
Damian’s eyes grew darker, as if storms gathered within them.
But his tone remained unchanged as he retorted, "Whether she’s worthy of , is it up to you to decide?"
Rachel bit her lip so hard she almost drew blood.
Damian Knight liked Sumr Monroe to such an extent!
She hated it!
Damian no longer wished to waste words on the two of them. He had only co personally to ensure they were properly detained.
"Separate them and make sure they never et again in this lifeti."
With that, Damian strode away.
The mbers of The Vanguard respectfully said in unison, "Take care."
Rachel laughed and cried, her voice tearing as she shouted at Damian’s retreating figure, "You’ll never be together, Mrs. Knight will never agree to let you be together!"
Damian paused, eventually turning back, his dark eyes eting Rachel’s gaze, slightly bending, he said, "You might not know, Sumr and I are already married. We’ll be together, and we’ll be well together, for a lifeti."
Rachel’s eyes widened suddenly, all color draining from her lips.
"No!!! Impossible!!!" Rachel scread, her eyes tearing and blood appearing, looking both pitiful and frightening.
But this ti, Damian did not stop, leaving quickly without looking back.
