Sumr Monroe’s voice was noticeably trembling as she spoke.
She was very emotional because she had been searching for this man for a very long ti. Ever since she read her mother’s words and spoke with Susan Stone, she had been searching tirelessly, not just on her own, but using almost every contact she could mobilize, yet all in vain.
Because she knew so little about him—his na, his appearance, nothing at all—and with nearly eight billion people in the world, finding soone with no information was even more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack.
But now, she finally knew what this man looked like!
It was all thanks to Henry Stanton kicking her out of the house and leaving this place for her.
But amidst the excitent, she felt a bit lost.
Should she be happy or not?
Damian Knight looked at Sumr Monroe’s complex expression and asked with so confusion, "Now that you’ve found the photo, finding your biological father should be much easier. You should be happy, so why the long face?"
Sumr gave a wry smile and replied, "When my mom faced such big troubles back then, even losing her life, he never showed up. I don’t know whether her death was related to him... If he truly was involved, even if he is my biological father, I want to avenge my mother. So... I don’t know whether to be happy or sad."
Damian reached out and ruffled her hair gently, like petting a cat, and said softly, "If you don’t know, then don’t dwell on it. Once you find him, everything will beco clear. By then, you can seek revenge if you need to, or acknowledge him if you must. At least now you’re one step closer to the truth."
As Damian moved closer, the pine scent on him engulfed her like a tsunami, unavoidable.
Sumr raised her eyes and t Damian Knight’s dark eyes. Those eyes were so dark, yet dazzling, and the brightness was gentle, overwhelming her with its allure.
For a mont, Sumr’s heart skipped a beat, then rapidly accelerated.
Blushing furiously, she pushed away Damian’s hand from her head, coughed twice, and said, "Well, it’s still a good thing. I’ll have soone do a facial recognition match in the database. If he’s in there, we should find him within a day or two."
"Alright, give a copy of the photo. My company also has a standalone global facial recognition database, it’s more convenient to check."
"Okay." Sumr nodded, trying hard to calm her racing heart.
Once the photo was sorted out, they went to a nearby supermarket together.
"What do you feel like eating? Dumplings?" Sumr asked Damian while pushing a small shopping cart.
"Not dumplings today, I’d like to taste your cooking skills," Damian volunteered, "I can help you with the preparations."
Recalling how Damian once turned noodles into a culinary disaster, Sumr quickly shook her head and said, "Forget helping out, you can just wash the dishes."
Damian smiled helplessly and said, "Why do I feel like I’m being disliked? My cooking skills aren’t that bad, are they?"
Sumr shrugged, "To be honest, they’re quite bad."
Damian, hands in pockets, laughed teasingly, "Haven’t you heard that you shouldn’t say a man is bad at sothing?"
"..." Sumr’s smile froze, her face turned crimson.
She muttered "lunatic" and pushed the shopping cart toward the vegetable section.
Damian stepped forward to follow her, but when he passed the toiletries section, he stopped to choose so matching colors, tossing them into his cart.
The toothbrush cups were black and white, with toothbrushes in matching colors, and the towels were from the sa series.
anwhile, Sumr was stopped by soone while choosing vegetables.
