Stella Monroe angrily asked, "What do you an?!"
Sumr Monroe was about to speak when Damian Knight calmly took a paternity test report from his pocket and tossed it in front of Stella Monroe.
Sumr glanced at it and imdiately recognized what it was. She asked in confusion, "Why did you even bring this?"
Damian nodded and said, "I thought the villagers believed you were Henry Stanton’s daughter and wouldn’t listen to you, so I brought it just in case. It didn’t co in handy with the villagers, but it’s useful here."
Sumr smiled slightly, thinking it wouldn’t hurt to slap Stella Monroe’s face with this.
Stella, being held down, couldn’t see clearly what was written on the paper on the ground.
Damian instructed, "Show it to her."
"Yes!" The bodyguard imdiately picked up the paternity test report from the ground, opened it, and placed it in front of Stella Monroe.
Curiously, Stella bent down to look and, after seeing the test results, her eyes widened like saucers, and her pupils shrank to re dots.
"This is impossible!"
Sumr responded indifferently, "The report is from Ross Hospital. There’s no error. Stella Monroe, the one to be pitied isn’t ; it’s you and Henry Stanton. Both of you were kept in the dark by my mother. Even after she passed away, you still live in her shadow; you’re the truly pitiful ones!"
"Impossible! Impossible!" Stella shouted, her voice hoarse and raw.
"Did you think my mother was in such a hurry to marry a man like Henry Stanton just because he didn’t shower or because he would end up killing her?"
As Sumr’s words landed, Stella trembled with rage.
The words she had just used to mock Sumr now felt like one slap after another, hitting her square in the face.
"No—"
Stella was extrely shocked, feeling a tallic taste rise in her throat, and she spat out a mouthful of blood.
Felix Jennings, tied to the pillar, looked worried, and he quickly said to Sumr, "Alright, Stella’s told you everything, can you let us go now?"
Sumr raised an eyebrow slightly and replied, "I haven’t finished asking my questions yet."
Stella panted heavily and asked, "I’ve told you everything, what more do you want to know?!"
Sumr walked over to her and crouched down.
"I want to know the identity of the man and the old woman you ntioned. Who are they, exactly?"
Since there were more culprits beyond Henry Stanton and Stella, Sumr wouldn’t let them slip away either!
"I don’t know..." Stella shook her head in terror. "I only know they’re incredibly powerful... They leaped over the estate wall in a single bound! They’re not human!"
Sumr frowned.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"I’m not lying! That woman looked down on Luna Monroe with her every word, and our Monroe Family was on par with The Four Great Families of Crestfall at that ti, which suggests their status was far above our family back then. Why would they deliberately hide their identities if they wanted to? How could I have known? But I’m sure they’re not ordinary people! Perhaps they’re ghosts..."
Sumr’s face darkened as she said, "Stella Monroe, I think you’ve lost your mind."
"Believe what you want!"
Stella’s expression was resolute, while Sumr looked puzzled.
Could what Stella said be true?
Is it really possible for soone to jump over the estate wall in one leap?
The wall is over two ters high!
However, Sumr didn’t notice the hint of a mysterious shadow that passed through Damian Knight’s eyes.
——He recalled Susan Stone’s tales about the rumors from Trevia.
Could...those rumors be true?
