Henry Stanton heard the conversation between the two and his eyes trembled violently.
"Sumr, although I’m not your biological father, I raised you for so many years. You can’t be ungrateful and send to prison!"
"Ungrateful?" Sumr sneered coldly and said, "Isn’t it true that you killed my mother?"
"I... I didn’t, I never killed her! It was all Stella Monroe’s doing! She contacted so old woman and threatened to push Luna, Sadie, you have to believe your father!"
Sumr keenly caught the words "old woman" and squinted her eyes to ask, "Do you still rember what that old woman looked like?"
Henry Stanton shook his head: "It was so many years ago, I really can’t rember, but I do rember she had a large mole in the middle of her forehead."
"Oh. Is that all?"
"That’s really all I can rember." Henry Stanton was almost in tears; if he went to prison, how could he survive afterward?
His entire life, he loved money and prestige, but if he went to prison, he’d lose both!
Sumr uttered another "oh" and before Henry Stanton could plead again, she said indifferently, "Very well, your usefulness is completely gone. Damian Knight, take him away. I don’t want to see his face."
"Alright." Damian Knight waved a hand and two bodyguards imdiately dragged Henry Stanton out of the trunk and started walking him toward The Vanguard’s temporary holding area.
When Henry Stanton saw the words "The Vanguard," his legs imdiately went weak.
"The Vanguard... how could it be The Vanguard? I don’t want to go there! I’d rather go to prison."
Damian Knight said coldly, "Don’t worry, you’ll get a stint in prison and in The Vanguard."
First, they would give Henry Stanton a normal sentence at the height of the storm, then quietly transfer him to The Vanguard Prison, where he would endure endless torture for life.
His final fate would be the sa as Stella Monroe’s, worse than death.
Sumr glanced at Henry Stanton’s back and sowhat bewilderedly asked Damian Knight, "Should I skip legal procedures and directly imprison him privately for torture instead?"
Damian Knight reached out, rubbed Sumr’s hand, and reminded her, "It’s not worth getting yourself involved with soone like him. After all, he’s a living person and, in Crestfall, he knows quite a few people. If those people can’t reach him and call the police, it could lead to a lot of trouble."
Sumr nodded, "You’re right, plus there are those people whose identities we haven’t discovered who want revenge. We can’t get hung up on Henry Stanton."
Damian Knight was startled, "That’s not what I ant... can’t you sotis think of yourself? Perhaps it’s best to end this here. From Stella Monroe’s tone, those people aren’t ordinary."
Sumr furrowed her brow, "We’ve co this far, how can I stop? Moreover, the old woman Stella Monroe ntioned and the old woman Henry Stanton spoke of are the real trigger. How could I let them go? No matter who they are or where they are, I must avenge my mother!"
Damian Knight knew he couldn’t persuade Sumr, so he gave up.
Just at that mont, Sumr’s phone chid with a ssage.
She took out her phone for a look and found it was a ssage from Holly Holloway.
"Who ssaged you?" Damian Knight imdiately leaned over to take a look.
A few seconds later, he pursed his lips and said, "It’s your friend... she’s even reminding you about the upcoming exams and that you should return to school soon to study."
"Why are you using such a sour tone? Stop being jealous of a girl!"
