"Don’t worry," Damian Knight reassured, "I’ll definitely help you find the person."
Sumr Monroe nodded, but a very bad premonition arose within her.
Damian Knight offered a few more words of comfort, then turned around and told the bodyguard to call in The Vanguard.
The appearance of The Vanguard generally ant the end for the company, so to avoid causing a disturbance, the mbers changed into civilian clothes before entering.
The bodyguard left and closed the door, leaving only three people in the room.
A mber of The Vanguard bowed to Damian Knight and respectfully but nervously called, "Captain."
This title startled Sumr Monroe, and she looked at Damian Knight in shock.
"You’re the captain of The Vanguard?"
Damian Knight shrugged helplessly, "I didn’t want it; they insisted on giving the position."
Sumr Monroe shrugged back, "Many people wish for this role and can’t get it, yet you despise it."
Damian Knight spoke truthfully, "Others want it to seek benefits, but there are no violations of The Vanguard’s rules within The Knight Corporation, so I don’t need it."
He continued, asking The Vanguard’s mbers, "Explain, what exactly is going on here."
"Yes." The person shafully recounted the event, almost identical to what the bodyguard had said.
Damian Knight thought for a mont and asked, "Anyone co to the team today?"
"Yes," the subordinate quickly replied, "but it was only those we caught money laundering through shell companies before. They turned themselves in."
"Turned themselves in?" Damian Knight squinted, "This is a serious cri. They must know the consequences, even if turning themselves in barely reduces their sentences."
"Indeed, it’s very odd," the subordinate said, "and it wasn’t just the money launderers. There was also a mid-sized enterprise running chain bars that confessed, saying several of their bars tolerated drug dealing."
"Such a large group, all choosing today..." Damian Knight spoke gravely, "Check who these two groups have been in contact with recently. Also, have you checked the surveillance in the temporary holding area?"
"We checked... the surveillance caras are broken."
"I knew it. This isn’t a coincidence; it’s preditated. The speed of action is really swift. It’s not just you; even I didn’t expect soone would dare co to The Vanguard to rescue people." Damian Knight took a deep breath and instructed, "Check all nearby surveillance. Also, set up checkpoints at all exits from Crestfall by land, sea, and air. Do not let Stella Monroe leave Crestfall."
"Yes! I’ll get right on it." The subordinate turned and left without further words.
Sumr Monroe watched the back of the mber, then asked Damian Knight, "Could there be a mole?"
Damian Knight shook his head, "Other institutions might have one, but The Vanguard definitely won’t. These people have been trained since childhood, have known backgrounds, and are all orphans without any familial ties."
Sumr Monroe exhaled and said, "That can only an the opponent’s ability is indeed strong."
"Yes." Damian Knight nodded, "During this ti, I’ll have Bella and Cece protect you closely to prevent any accidents."
Sumr Monroe didn’t refuse, and after two seconds of silence, proactively suggested, "Can I visit The Vanguard? I might be able to restore the surveillance."
"Alright, I’ll take you there now."
"No." Sumr Monroe quickly stopped Damian Knight, "I saw how busy you were earlier. Finish your tasks; don’t worry about . If you’re not comfortable, I’ll have Assistant Shelton take there."
