Willow Grant stared, eyes gone wide in shock, almost doubting her own ears.
What had she just heard?
She had actually heard... Professor Osborne’s wife say that Professor Osborne liked his own student?
A student who could be called a "bastard"—who else could that be but Sumr Monroe?
Did Professor Osborne actually like Sumr Monroe?!
How was that possible? Hadn’t Professor Osborne always really disliked Sumr, constantly making things hard for her, being especially strict with her?
But when Willow Grant glanced at the expression on Mio Osborne’s face, she finally confird she hadn’t misheard.

This was an earth‑shattering piece of gossip!
To avoid being seen by Mio Osborne and Claire Woodward, Willow Grant hurriedly slipped back behind the wall, hugging the stack of papers in her arms as she continued listening to the conversation inside, and at the sa ti, she didn’t forget to switch on her phone’s recorder.
Inside the office.
Neither Claire Woodward nor Mio Osborne noticed Willow Grant’s fleeting figure at the door.
Claire’s lips curled in smug satisfaction. Bracing both hands on the desk, she looked lazily at Mio Osborne and said, "Now that I’ve said it out loud, you’re angry? It’s true I did force you a bit into marrying , but the main reason was still you. If you hadn’t fallen for Sumr Monroe,"
Mio Osborne ground his molars hard.
"Claire Woodward, don’t push it! If you expose this, you won’t end well either! If you hadn’t egged on to drug Sumr back then, I wouldn’t have ended up like this today. Just to get back to school and keep teaching, I had no choice but to marry soone like you!"
"Soone like ?" Claire let out a cold laugh. "What kind of person am I? You and I are the sa at the core; neither of us is nobler than the other. Let tell you, if I can’t get the position of Woodward Family Head, I’d rather go down with you. We’ll drag each other to hell, and no one will co out of it looking good!"
Mio Osborne slamd the desk again in fury, but Claire wasn’t frightened in the slightest. Instead, she lifted her chin and said, "Mio Osborne, since we’re already married, we’re like grasshoppers on the sa rope. Your glory is my glory, your loss is my loss. You still can’t let go of that bastard Sumr Monroe? Fine, I can wait. But when it cos to becoming the Woodward Family Head, you are not allowed to hold back in the slightest."
The color in Mio Osborne’s face shifted between green and red; he really was livid.
But he still had enough sense left to know that before he got his diploma from Britton University, he truly couldn’t afford any more negative press. In other words, he had to cooperate with Claire Woodward—he had no choice.
Seeing the look on his face, Claire knew perfectly well that Mio Osborne had already compromised.
She softened her tone and said, "Five o’clock this evening, I’ll be waiting for you at the campus gate. Don’t be late. By six, you have to appear with at the old Woodward estate."
Finished speaking, Claire Woodward didn’t give Mio Osborne any chance to refuse and turned to leave.
Hearing footsteps, Willow Grant hurriedly put on the act of soone just coming up the stairs and stepped toward the office.
"Professor Osborne." As soon as Willow Grant spoke, she saw Claire Woodward walking out. She deliberately showed a surprised expression and asked in delight, "Ma’am, you’re here? I’m a fan of yours. I’ve heard your dical skills are amazing."
No one dislikes hearing flattery.
Claire Woodward smiled faintly and said, "Thank you. If you ever feel unwell, you can co find at Ross Hospital."
"Thank you, ma’am!" Willow Grant’s smile grew even brighter.
"Then I’m off, Mio." Claire waved at Mio Osborne, and Mio Osborne just gave a slight nod.
The two of them looked every bit the loving newlywed couple.
