Several people simultaneously looked toward the direction of the sound.
They saw a girl standing in the corner with skin fairer than snow; as a gentle breeze blew, her coiled hair frad her snowy face, an ethereal painting.
The couple was instantly srized.
They had never seen a girl so beautiful.
Yet Faye recognized the girl at a glance.
"You are Sumr Monroe!"
Sumr stepped forward, gently asking Caleb Woodward, "Doctor Woodward, do you mind if I have a look at the patient?"
After a mont of surprise, Caleb suddenly widened his eyes.
"You—you’re the one who prescribed that formula?"
Sumr nodded, "I told you that if fate allowed, you would et her."
She admired Caleb Woodward’s character; helping him out was no issue.
Moreover, since she had dical skills and the patient was right in front of her, how could she stand idly by?
Caleb’s gaze at her instantly transford from astonishnt to joy, then from joy to reverence.
He had never seen soone as young as Sumr with such high proficiency in Chinese dicine; could it be that she understood Ancient Chinese dicine?
Chinese dicine and Ancient Chinese dicine are actually different concepts; Ancient Chinese dicine is deeper and more profound, incomparable to typical Chinese dicine.
"Then please..." Caleb made a gesture of invitation, saying, "Faye is in your hands."
"Alright, I’ll do my best." Sumr said, approaching Faye to inquire, "Faye, right? Can you honestly tell if you have left ho in the past two days, or if any visitors have co to see you?"
Faye instinctively shook her head.
However, in that mont, Sumr clearly felt the girl avoiding her gaze.
Not only did Sumr know Ancient Chinese dicine, but she was also skilled in observing micro-expressions; she imdiately concluded that the girl was lying.
But before Sumr could ask again, Faye’s allergies flared up once more.
This ti, Faye was foaming at the mouth, her breathing more labored than before.
Sumr promptly instructed Caleb Woodward, "Turn her over! Then give her another dose of the earlier dicine."
"Okay!" Caleb was practically obedient without question.
After administering the dicine, Sumr took out the silver needles she always carried and perford acupuncture on several points of the girl’s body.
This ti, it took a full half-hour for the girl to regain consciousness.
During this ti, Sumr examined the exposed parts of the girl’s body but did not find any traces of tick bites.
"Could it be that she underwent heart transplant surgery and is now experiencing rejection?"
Sumr shook her head, "Rejection shouldn’t manifest in these symptoms nor appear only now. I still suspect tick paralysis."
As Sumr spoke, she seriously asked the pale-faced Faye: "Faye, it felt terrible earlier, didn’t it? I’m telling you, if we can’t find the cause of your illness, it will be worse next ti. And... your body can’t handle many more tis, so you absolutely must tell the truth. Did you really not go out?"
Faye bit her lip and, with a complex expression, looked at Caleb Woodward beside her.
Caleb Woodward asked in confusion, "Faye, what is it that you can’t say?"
Faye’s parents beside her also urged anxiously, "Faye, quickly tell the truth to the doctor! When your mom and I went to work, did you go out?"
Faye closed her eyes and said, "I didn’t go out."
Just as Sumr was about to speak, Faye added, "But... soone ca over."
"Who ca over?" Caleb Woodward instinctively asked.
"Clara."
Caleb Woodward was taken aback and asked in shock, "My brother?"
"Yes." Tears stread down Faye’s face, "I’m sorry, Doctor Woodward... I, I am with your brother."
