Damian Knight’s expression shifted slightly, but out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of Sumr Monroe looking out the car window, and quickly reined himself in. He answered with a faint "Mm," and said, "Go on."
"She’s been moving around with a group of people through four different countries, and now she’s in Malaysia, boarding a helicopter."
"Can you keep up?"
"We’re still arranging a helicopter, but tailing them like that would be too obvious, so while they weren’t paying attention, I disguised myself as airport staff and installed a GPS device on their helicopter during maintenance."
"Very good. Update when there’s news."
"Yes, sir!"
As the call ended, Sumr turned her head, sharply asking, "Have you found Stella Monroe?"
Damian hesitated for a mont, then nodded. "Mm, sort of. She boarded a helicopter, and my people put a tracker on it. I believe we’ll have her back soon."
"Huh—" Sumr let out the pent-up breath in her chest and said, "Once we catch her this ti, there’s no way we’re letting her slip away again."
"Don’t worry, there won’t be a second ti." Speaking of this, Damian suddenly added, "After we give the dicine to Dottie’s Mom later, we’ll go check on Felix Jennings. His injuries should be pretty much healed by now."
Sumr nodded. "That’s exactly what I had in mind just now."
First, get Stella’s assets back from Felix Jennings.
They belonged to her mother to begin with. Even if they hadn’t caught Stella yet, the things should return to their rightful owner first.
The car quickly arrived at Ross Hospital.
After watching Dottie’s Mom drink the restorative dicine, Sumr went with Damian to see Felix Jennings.
Just as Damian had said, Felix Jennings’s injuries had almost fully healed.
But because the wound infection had caused a persistent high fever, when Sumr entered the ward she could tell at a glance that Felix’s qi and blood were still severely depleted.
Sumr instinctively reached out to take Felix’s pulse, and after about two minutes she said, "You’ll need another week of recuperation to fully recover."
Felix stared at Sumr in astonishnt and asked in confusion, "After I set you up so many tis, why are you still willing to treat ?"
"There’s no why," Sumr said calmly. "Just instinct."
A healer’s instinct.
Sha flickered across Felix’s face as he spoke up of his own accord. "I still can’t get out of bed, but signing my na is no problem. You must have brought the property transfer contracts with you this trip, right?"
Sumr froze for a second. She had actually forgotten about that.
Right then, Damian, standing beside her, suddenly handed over two contracts.
Sumr shot Damian a surprised look, only to see him give her a quick, subtle wink before looking at Felix with a blank face. "The lawyer’s already drafted them. Take a look."
Felix didn’t even glance at them before signing his full na.
His body might still be alive, but his heart was already dead. He no longer cared about external things like property.
Or rather, he had never truly cared about them. All that hard work he’d put into building up those assets had actually been entirely for Stella.
And now... there was no need anymore.
After Felix finished signing, Sumr took the contracts and skimd them, only to realize Damian had investigated Stella’s overseas assets even more thoroughly than she had.
All the scattered bits and pieces added up to a staggering 1.6 billion.
It was undeniable that Felix did have so talent when it ca to managing money.
Sumr put the contracts away, looked at Felix, and said, "Your case will go to trial in a week. I’ve already pulled so strings for you. You’ll spend about ten years in Crestfall Prison."
