Sumr Monroe emphasized once again that Julian Kingston’s heart was done for, and Old Master Kingston simply couldn’t stomach it; he instantly blew up, beard bristling and eyes bulging.
"Say that to one more ti?"
Cursing as he spoke, Old Master Kingston raised the cane in his hand and swung it toward Sumr.
Sumr didn’t dodge, and there wasn’t the slightest trace of fear on her face.
It was Isaac Ross and Ronan Kingston who panicked; they hurriedly stepped in front of Old Master Kingston.
Ronan happened to be standing right in the path of the cane and took the full blow solidly.
But he couldn’t be bothered with the pain in his body; he quickly grabbed Old Master Kingston’s arm and said, "Grandpa, don’t hit people randomly, this is Sumr!"
"I don’t care if she’s Sumr or Winter, if she dares curse my grandson, I’ll blow her head off with one shot!"
Isaac rushed to persuade him as well: "Old Master, boss... Sumr’s dical skills are exceptional, just hear her out first. I believe she hasn’t finished what she wants to say yet."
As Isaac spoke, he cautiously probed Sumr: "Right?"
If not... then Julian really was beyond saving.
"That’s right." Sumr nodded, and Isaac’s eyes lit up imdiately.
That ant Julian could still be saved!
Old Master Kingston glared at Sumr through his anger and asked coldly, "What else haven’t you said?"
Sumr spoke in an even tone: "His own heart is severely damaged. If we want it to regain function, it has to be a gradual process. So before this heart completely loses its function, we must implant a heart robot to take over its work. Once his heart slowly recovers later on, we can remove the heart robot."
Old Master Kingston was stunned for a mont, then asked, "The heart robot you’re talking about, is it that cardiac pacing robot released by S Group?"
Sumr nodded; this was her proudest creation at S Group.
Seeing her nod, Old Master Kingston frowned and said, "I’ve read the information on this heart robot, but as far as I rember, it’s for treating heart diseases. Can it really directly replace the heart’s function?"
Sumr shook her head, then nodded again. "It didn’t originally have that function, but I’ve already asked Damian Knight to modify the program and add components according to my specs. It should be just about done by now, which is why I need to start the open-heart surgery imdiately. As soon as the heart robot is ready, we’ll install it right away."
"You... can you really pull that off?" Old Master Kingston looked at Sumr, full of doubt.
This Sumr girl looked even younger than that chief surgeon from before.
Sumr inclined her head slightly. "I’ll do everything in my power."
Isaac nodded along at the side. "Old Master, don’t worry, I can vouch for Sumr’s dical skills."
Hearing this, the dread in Old Master Kingston’s heart eased just a little.
But he didn’t forget to warn her: "If the surgery fails, I’ll put a bullet in your head!"
Old Master Kingston’s catchphrase was "I’ll put a bullet in your head," and Claire Woodward had been terrified by that line before.
Hearing it again now, Claire’s eyes rolled as they spun with calculation.
Listening to Old Master Kingston talk like that, there was no way she dared take this surgery.
As for Sumr... all that talk about modifying programs and adding components.
She’d never heard of a heart robot being able to directly replace the heart’s function; that device was clearly only ant as an auxiliary support.
If Sumr’s surgery failed... heh, she wouldn’t even need to lift a finger, Old Master Kingston would never let her off.
Perfect, then she would "reluctantly" hand this opportunity over to Sumr.
Sumr was the one courting trouble; it had nothing to do with her.
Thinking this, Claire stepped forward and deliberately said to Old Master Kingston, "I’m actually very confident about this surgery as well, but Miss Sumr’s dical skill is far above mine, so I’ll yield the position of chief surgeon to her, Mr. Kingston."
