Claire Woodward felt a chill from Sumr Monroe’s intimidating glance.
Suddenly, a feeling arose within her, as though sothing she was once sure of having was slowly slipping away, never to return.
Sumr Monroe’s eyes were truly terrifying.
Claire decided not to make eye contact with Sumr anymore and coldly said, "I don’t want to know! You better leave quickly, or I’ll have soone throw you out!"
Sumr chuckled softly and walked away with large strides.
Claire watched Sumr’s silhouette disappear, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
She returned to Sixth Woodward Hall, but felt a bit restless.
Before long, Caleb Woodward ca back.
Unable to resist, Claire approached and asked, "Big brother, how do you know Sumr Monroe?"
Caleb, seeing Claire in Sixth Woodward Hall, asked with so surprise, "Claire, why are you still here? Aren’t you supposed to be at the hospital?"
Claire felt a pang of frustration, and quickly explained, "There’s too much scheming at the hospital. I don’t want to beco as complicated as they are, besides I’ve learned almost everything about Western dicine, so I resigned."
"Resigned?" Caleb raised his voice in surprise.
But two seconds later, he regained composure, nodded and said, "That’s fine, your father disagreed with you studying Western dicine from the start. It’s good to co back, Sixth Woodward Hall is short of people. When I’m out on house visits, the pharmacy lacks soone in charge. It’s perfect timing for you to co back, you can also use this ti to prepare for the family head selection."
"You still haven’t answered my question." Claire asked again, "How do you know Sumr, big brother?"
Caleb’s expression stiffened slightly; he knew his sister was intensely jealous and realized Sumr didn’t seem to have the best impact on Claire. He chose to omit ntioning the invitation he had given Sumr for the family head selection, and simply said that Sumr helped him when he was treating Faye.
"So that’s how it is..." Claire looked up at Caleb and said, "Big brother, let tell you, Sumr Monroe is far more scheming than she appears. My departure from Ross Hospital was largely because of her. You should keep your distance from her; she’s not a good person."
Caleb found these unpleasant words grating, and frowned slightly as he reminded Claire, "Claire, it’s alright to say this in front of . Dad values morality above all else, so don’t judge others with such a tone in the future."
"I know, I know." Claire replied impatiently, waving her hand and then turned back to her chair and started playing on her phone.
Seeing Claire’s attitude, Caleb let out a barely audible sigh.
Judging by Claire’s deanor, it was uncertain what would happen when Sumr appeared on the day of the family head selection.
He just hoped everything would go smoothly.
Caleb didn’t linger in the hall much longer; after resting for a bit, he went out again for house visits.
...
Elsewhere, Sumr instructed Assistant Shelton to head to a nearby traditional dicine shop.
Her current purchase was fairly ordinary. Only one herbal ingredient, Emperor Grass, was challenging to find.
She visited three shops before completing her purchase.
"Miss Monroe, where are we going now? Back to Redleaf Manor?"
Sumr shook her head, "Let’s go to Crestfall University first."
She planned to use this ti to visit the archives and search for clues about that man.
Assistant Shelton didn’t ask further and drove to Crestfall University.
There were many red lights on the way, and while waiting at one, Sumr spotted a familiar face on a comrcial street.
