He seized a nearby wine bottle and took a large swig. Yan Xixi saw trouble brewing; he downed nearly half the bottle in one go. There’s no reasoning with a drunkard. She tried to take the bottle from him, but he gripped it tightly, as if he were clenching a sharp dagger.
"Yan Xixi, it’s one thing for you to resent , but why do you resent the child? The child is innocent. How can you treat him so and still remain untroubled?"
She avoided his angry gaze. He’s just using this as an excuse to lash out. The first examination showed all indices were low, an indication of a threatened miscarriage. The doctor had made it clear: within the first three months, it’s purely survival of the fittest. Even administering progesterone might not have saved it. So, what’s his point in bringing this up now?
She mustered her patience. "HCG isn’t a critical indicator. I didn’t take the dication initially because I felt it wasn’t necessary. Besides, it caused severe vomiting, and I couldn’t bear it..."
