Her voice was indifferent. "Isn’t this the type of relationship we have?"
His blood-red eyes widened, his breathing heavy. "Xixi, have you never liked at all?"
"Mr. Wan, are you joking?"
"..."
She smiled, but her voice was icily cold. "Mr. Wan, one shouldn’t be too greedy. You’re about to marry another woman, yet you’re asking if I ever liked you..."
"So, you’re saying you’ve never liked ?"
"We’ve never gotten that far in our relationship!"
Furious, he flung her hand away and stord out.
Yan Xixi chased after him, only to find the door locked from the outside. Unease filled her. She couldn’t just grow wings and fly out of this situation. She glanced at the half-empty bottle of wine on the table, a faint hope stirring within her. Perhaps it was the alcohol. Maybe when he sobered up tomorrow, he wouldn’t be so unreasonable.
That night, she tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She only drifted off as dawn broke and then slept soundly until the afternoon.
Famished, she got up to find sothing to eat and hastily ate a few biscuits. There was no hot water, and she was terribly thirsty, so she went to get so water without much thought.
She reached for the door. The previously locked door swung open. Deafening, strange noises assaulted her from the living room.
She hurried out. Looking down from the stairs, she froze. A large, red velvet swing hung in the living room. On it sat two or three young won with bare legs, holding wine glasses and cigarettes. They laughed raucously, exhaling plus of smoke as they swayed back and forth. All of this was accompanied by the blare of heavy tal music, filling the air with a deafening cacophony.
In all her ti here, she had never seen Wan Donglin bring other won ho.
Especially that red velvet swing. She’d almost forgotten it existed, but sohow, it had reappeared.
The sight of the swing filled her with dread. She instinctively hid behind a pillar, but then a loud voice bellowed, "Yan Xixi, get down here!"
She stood up straight.
Wan Donglin sat on the sofa in the living room, surrounded by empty wine bottles. The ashtray overflowed, and cigarette butts littered the floor. He was dressed properly, but his white shirt was splattered with wine stains.
The air hung thick with smoke, making the room seem unreal, as if fallen souls wandered the periter.
Fear seized her heart. Wan Donglin had never been like this before.
His eyes were narrowed, obviously very drunk. He casually let a bottle slip from his hand. It fell to the floor with a loud CRASH! and the strong scent of alcohol imdiately perated the air.
"Yan Xixi, get down here!"
Yan Xixi’s heart pounded—THUMP-THUMP—but she dared not disobey.
The three won stared at her, then started clamoring with remarks.
"Third Master, who’s this? Another beauty?"
"Ah, so this is why you haven’t called for us in so long? Is it because of her? This girl’s not bad, Third Master. Which nightclub did you find her in?"
"She looks exhausted. Third Master, did you wear her out completely? Tell us, did your buddies have a go at her too? Hehe, poor thing... Co on, beauty, join us. Have a smoke..."
"Poor thing. We sisters are all in the sa boat. This guy, our torntor—as soon as he has us on that swing, it ans he’s about to give us to his friends. So, Third Master, who are you planning to offer this beauty to?"
