He sneered, "If it’s not mine, don’t tell it’s yours?"
Huang Xiaojue said gravely, "It belongs to Yan Xixi!"
"Huang Xiaojue, don’t you dare spout nonsense."
Huang Xiaojue ignored him, instead handing a bag to the lead plainclothes officer, "Look. This is the DNA analysis report from the hospital. A forensic pathologist and I collected samples from Wan Donglin’s car door. Yan Xixi is an employee of our company. Our company files store her blood type, and I also have her hair samples. When compared with Yan Xixi’s samples, this blood is unequivocally hers."
The dical report was absolutely authentic. Appended were photographs of Wan Donglin’s car, its license plate number, and a doctor’s signature. The evidence was conclusive, leaving no room for doubt. Wan Donglin could not deny it.
All eyes fixed sharply on Wan Donglin’s face, reflecting a mixture of suspicion, doubt, fear, bewildernt, and even a faint disdain—as if they were looking at a genuine murderer.
The very posture of the plainclothes officers changed.
Huang Xiaojue took a step forward, his voice heavy, "Wan Donglin, what exactly did you do to Xixi? For the past two years, you’ve incessantly pestered and harassed her. She wanted nothing to do with you and had already made a clean break. Yet, you shalessly persisted, kidnapping her on the evening of the twenty-eighth of the twelfth lunar month. Was it because she rejected you that you killed her in a fit of rage?"
Wan Donglin cursed inwardly. I never, ever expected Huang Xiaojue to pull such a stunt. He’s completely caught off guard!
With the forensic report presented, if he didn’t offer a clear explanation, not only the plainclothes officers but even people like Zhang Xiang stared at him with astonishnt. It was as if they were all silently wondering: Did he really kill that woman? If not, where did this blood co from?
His injured hand, in particular, had beco the most damning piece of circumstantial evidence. Could it be that during a physical struggle, he had accidentally killed Yan Xixi?
A clandestine affair: the man forces himself on the woman, she resists... and then, bloodshed.
Everyone was vividly imagining the scene. Huang Xiaojue’s deductions fanned the flas, each detail fitting so plausibly that it was impossible not to suspect a "bloody incident."
Wan Donglin cleared his throat dryly and shot Huang Xiaojue a venomous glare.
Huang Xiaojue’s gaze was even more savage. He lunged forward, grabbing Wan Donglin by the collar, "Where is Xixi? Did you really hurt her? Hand her over to , now!"
Furious, Wan Donglin tried to shove him away. But Huang Xiaojue used great force, and Wan Donglin couldn’t imdiately break free. Fortunately, two plainclothes officers stepped in and separated them.
Huang Xiaojue cried out sharply, "Everyone has seen it! Wan Donglin clearly has a guilty conscience! If he didn’t harm Yan Xixi, why would he dare not hand her over? Wan Donglin, murder demands a life in retribution! If you’ve truly done anything to Xixi, I absolutely will not spare you!"
Even the lead plainclothes officer said gravely, "Mr. Wan, things have co to this point. We have no choice. If you still refuse to hand over Miss Yan, we will have to proceed with official business."
"Proceeding with official business" ant they were about to enter and conduct a thorough search of the premises. In fact, they had a search warrant with them, but out of consideration for his standing, they had refrained from presenting it unless absolutely necessary.
Now that Huang Xiaojue had laid out irrefutable proof, it was highly unlikely they could continue to show him any deference.
