As they were speaking, she had already brought Yan Xixi to the model apartnt on the third floor. It was the sa apartnt Yan Xixi had seen before: a ticulously decorated one-bedroom unit of over fifty square ters. The attention to detail was excellent, and the bedroom was relatively spacious. The most satisfying feature was a bonus balcony, over ten square ters in size, seamlessly integrated with the bedroom. It served as both a study and made the bedroom look exceptionally comfortable and elegant. A specially designed, integrated bookshelf occupied one corner. Sitting there, one could fully take in the scenery outside the window.
Yan Xixi was highly skeptical. The cost of decorating such a model apartnt must be nearly as much as the apartnt itself! "Can this kind of apartnt also be offered at a special price?" she asked. "Does it co with all this high-end furniture too?"
"Not quite. The furniture in here is just for display and will be removed. You’ll only get the apartnt itself."
"So everything else apart from the finished furniture is included with the apartnt?"
"Yes, everything that has been installed as part of the renovation is included."
Yan Xixi let out a long sigh of relief, feeling as if a pie had just fallen from the sky. She could just pack her bags and move right in!
"This is the best unit available. The other two apartnts aren’t as good in terms of orientation and layout, and their balconies are half the size. To be honest, a certain gentleman instructed us to call you first. He ntioned he’s a friend of a friend of yours. Miss Yan, you’re the only one I’ve contacted about this apartnt. Other clients aren’t even aware of it. Otherwise, it would be in extrely high demand by now. If you want it, you must pay a deposit imdiately. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee it will still be available tomorrow."
Yan Xixi was already completely satisfied, but she still hesitated slightly. "Do I have to pay the deposit today?"
"Absolutely! Tomorrow, I can assure you, you won’t be able to buy this apartnt anymore. I can’t keep it reserved for you indefinitely."
Yan Xixi looked out the window. The community’s supporting facilities were steadily taking shape, vegetation was flourishing, and the grand forest park was right across the street. For this price, getting such a beautifully renovated apartnt was an absolute steal.
She gritted her teeth, took out her card, and handed it over. "I’ll pay a deposit of 10,000 first."
"Okay, I’ll take you to swipe your card imdiately. Once the contract is ready, you can co back to sign it and make the final paynt."
Upon getting back into the unlicensed taxi, Yan Xixi finally processed it: she had actually paid a deposit.
Did she really have to buy this apartnt?
Her resignation letter was ready. She was about to send it but hesitated. She had already paid the deposit. If she quit her job, how would she pay the mortgage?
Yan Xixi hesitated for a mont, then cancelled the email. Just then, her office phone rang. It was Huang Ying calling. Yan Xixi imdiately went to Huang Ying’s office.
Upon seeing her, Huang Ying’s joy was written all over her face. "Xixi, I have so good news to share with you."
"What is it?"
"This September, the company is sending three employees to the United States for half a year of study. It’s an excellent opportunity, and you’re one of them."
She was overjoyed. "Really?"
"Of course. However, we will assess your performance before departure. At the very least, you must maintain your current level. Otherwise, you’ll be disqualified."
"I’ll definitely redouble my efforts."
Huang Ying chatted with her about recent work matters, then reminded her of so extra minor details, pointing out areas where she hadn’t handled things well. So of her words might have been harsh, but Yan Xixi listened attentively. She knew that these days, there were very few people willing to help soone like this.
Finally, Huang Ying asked, "Are you free the first weekend of next month?"
"I’m free."
"Xixi, this ti I have a bit of an unconventional request."
"Please, go ahead, Director Huang."
