She avoided his gaze.
"Xixi, are you going to the shop? I can give you a lift."
"Don’t you have work today?"
"Today is Saturday."
She hesitated for a mont, then silently got into the car. Once they had driven a short distance, Huang Xiaojue finally exhaled. "Wang Xiaohao seems to be crippled now. Last night, his father and his father-in-law nearly ca to blows at the hospital..."
Yan Xixi hadn’t expected the consequences to be so severe. Dazed, she said, "He kept threatening ... Insisting I accompany him for a month..."

Should we, or should we not, be like God?
If even God won’t forgive certain atrocities, are we supposed to be more rciful than Him?
This was a paradox she couldn’t resolve. Her mind was a tangled ss, as if two diatrically opposed forces were pulling at her: Was FootPicker’s viewpoint correct, or was Huang Xiaojue’s?
Who is right, and who is wrong?
Deep down, she recognized she sided with FootPicker. It felt as if they were kindred spirits.
