"Do you want to co and see you in person?"
"HEH HEH."
"HAHA, Miss, are you really brave enough to have co?"
Yan Xixi really didn’t dare.
A very subtle emotion stirred within her—it was because she felt she’d beco ugly. She hurried to the dressing table to inspect her reflection. Her bruised face was certainly not flattering; the corners of her eyes were bloodshot, and her lips were still a little swollen.
"Miss, don’t try to act tough. I know you’re worried that you’re too ugly and might scare . How about this: I’ll give you so ti to heal. Once you’re not so ugly, I’ll grant you the chance to see in person."
TSK TSK TSK, this guy, talking as if he were the Emperor.
"However, I can have soone send you a small gift to comfort you."
She cheered, "That’s great? I’ll get a little gift too?"
"Don’t expect to send you anything valuable."
"HAHA, I didn’t expect you to send luxury cars or yachts, or anything like that."
Then, the conversation ended.
Yan Xixi was already used to him suddenly disappearing and ignoring her, so she didn’t press further.
Less than half an hour later, a knock ca at the door.
She was a bit surprised. When she opened the door, she saw two people standing outside. The hotel attendant introduced them, "Miss Yan, this is Dr. Liu. He’s here to check on your injuries."
Yan Xixi said in surprise, "But I didn’t call for a doctor."
Dr. Liu smiled. "A friend of yours asked to co."
He examined the injuries on Yan Xixi’s head and the back of her hand, then said, "Miss Yan, although these may seem like minor injuries, they must be treated properly, or they will leave scars."
Only then did Yan Xixi realize that the doctor had been sent by the Barefooted Man.
Dr. Liu ticulously examined her injuries from head to toe, questioning her thoroughly.
"Does your head hurt?"
"It hurt a bit for the past couple of days, but it doesn’t hurt now."
"Where else does it hurt?"
Her waist ached terribly. Her aunt had kicked her to the ground, and perhaps during the chaos, her aunt had even landed a vicious kick. The area was bruised and still throbbed with pain.
Dr. Liu pressed his hand on her ribs and then her lower back, asking how various spots felt. After she described her pain, Dr. Liu said, "It’s nothing serious, but it will definitely hurt for a few more days. Miss, please sit down, and I’ll treat your external injuries."
"I applied so red antiseptic myself a couple of days ago."
"That won’t do. The weather is hot, and if an injury isn’t treated properly, it can easily get infected."
She obediently sat down and saw that Dr. Liu’s large dical kit was filled with all sorts of supplies. He first cleaned her wounds with a dicinal solution and then applied a layer of a very special ointnt. After dressing the wounds on her face and the back of her hand, he instructed her, "Don’t get it wet. It’ll be fine in a few days."
"Thank you."
"You’re welco. I’ll co every day to change the dressing for you. That way, you absolutely won’t be left with any scars."
She felt embarrassed. "It’s just such a minor injury. Do you really need to make a house call every day? Isn’t that too much trouble?"
"Please don’t consider it troubleso. You’re so young, Miss. Wouldn’t it be a great pity if you were left with any scars, no matter how small?"
This doctor was rather amusing.
As she was seeing him out, she suddenly rembered to ask, "Dr. Liu, I haven’t paid you for the dicine and the house call fee yet."
Dr. Liu laughed heartily. "No need, no need! A friend asked to co."
If it weren’t for that, why would I possibly make a house call for such minor injuries?
Yan Xixi had no idea who this Dr. Liu truly was. She just assud he was a private doctor from so small clinic and figured the Barefooted Man had already paid him, so she didn’t think much more of it.
「The Barefooted Man’s gift arrived that evening.」
