The weather was sweltering, and the city’s power supply was barely coping. Surrounding areas experienced rolling blackouts. Thankfully, the business center where Xu Xiaoya’s shop was located remained unaffected, much to her delight.
The store was vast and spotlessly clean, with plenty of seats, a good supply of iced sour plum soup, and fully cranked air-conditioning. All the custors who stepped inside felt extrely comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The longer a custor stayed in a shop and the more items they tried, the more likely they were to buy sothing. Xu Xiaoya had quickly realized this and provided very ticulous service.
Yan Xixi, on the other hand, had been tracking the economic situation closely. Over the last six months, due to restrictions on public expenditure, luxury gifts—which had once been an open secret—saw a decline. After all, the most favored gifts amongst won were luxury items. However, as the rectification campaign grew stricter day by day, several luxury stores in the city experienced a business downturn, with two even closing down.
After discussing it with Xu Xiaoya, Yan Xixi had her stock up on large quantities of the most affordable basic models—genuine, entry-level items an average female office worker could afford. Sure enough, this strategy yielded swift results. These affordable items started to sell out rapidly, carving out a lucrative niche amid tough market conditions.
At two in the afternoon, when people typically felt most sluggish, a few elderly n and won were browsing in the shop, enjoying the air-conditioning, though there weren’t many of them. Xu Xiaoya had one outstanding quality: she never showed any hint of annoyance towards custors who were clearly just freeloading off the air-conditioning with no intention of buying anything. Instead, she instructed her staff to treat everyone the sa. Although they didn’t pester them about making a purchase, they would enthusiastically offer drinks, letting them have as much as they liked. She wouldn’t get annoyed, no matter how long they lingered in their seats.
Yan Xixi purposely chose this ti to visit, as Huang Xiaojue would be at work and not around.
She entered quietly, wearing a pair of magic glasses. A shop assistant doing her rounds noticed her and, recognizing her instantly, cried out in surprise, "Miss Yan! Are you feeling better now?"
Yan Xixi replied softly, "I’m better now." She smiled and waved, signaling them not to make a fuss.
She tiptoed to Xu Xiaoya’s office and suddenly flung the door open. Xu Xiaoya jumped, but as soon as she saw it was Yan Xixi, she let out a hearty laugh. "Xixi, you’re all better now?" Smiling, Yan Xixi closed the door behind her and removed her sunglasses.
Xu Xiaoya saw that the small injury on Yan Xixi’s face had fully healed. Her skin was smooth and her spirit radiant; it was a stark contrast to the haggard, despairing woman who had been hiding. This brought Xu Xiaoya both astonishnt and joy. "Xixi, your wounds are all healed! Haha, you look even prettier than before."
Yan Xixi chuckled. "Xiaoya, how’s business?"
"Ah, I was just going through the accounts. Look..." Xu Xiaoya handed over the ledger. "All of May’s sales are here. I couldn’t believe it would turn out this good! Xixi, your judgnt was right. The purchasing power for high-end luxury items isn’t what it used to be. Moreover, many boutiques, in their pursuit of profit, are deceiving custors by passing off inferior goods as quality or selling high-quality fakes, and their businesses are becoming increasingly unsustainable. I made adjustnts based on what you said, and sure enough, sales revenue is surging!"
Custors are never short of money; what they lack is respect.
