"My flight is tomorrow afternoon, so it won’t be an issue."
Xu Xiaoya couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Yan Xixi blushed slightly. Who talks like that?
To her surprise, Li Zhen stepped forward, pulled out a business card, and said, "Yan Xixi, this is my address and phone number. Take it."
She had no choice but to accept it.
"Yan Xixi, could I have your phone number?"
She hesitated, so Xu Xiaoya quickly grabbed one of Yan Xixi’s business cards from nearby and handed it to him.
Li Zhen was overjoyed. He took the card, examined it ticulously, and said, "Thank you, thank you."
Since he was Yan Xixi’s classmate and clearly not in the sa league as Yang Wei or Mother Huang, Xu Xiaoya didn’t treat him coldly. Changing her previously unfriendly deanor, she promptly served him a cup of coffee.
After finishing his coffee, Li Zhen seed to have regained his composure. He asked smoothly, "Yan Xixi, are you planning to study abroad?"
"No, I’m not."
"What a pity. I heard you were an excellent student, always ranking first every sester. You’d definitely ace the IELTS exam. Are you interested in going? I can help you connect with a university..."
"That won’t be necessary. I have a job."
Li Zhen glanced around the shop, a keen sense of regret welling up inside him. While running this shop is excellent, deep down, I feel she shouldn’t *just* be doing this—or rather, that there’s more to her.
From A Country to C Country, though he had t countless female classmates, she was the only one he had ever encountered who was both so beautiful and consistently achieved top marks.
Xu Xiaoya suddenly interjected, "Which university are you attending in C Country?"
"I’m studying law."
Upon hearing this, Xu Xiaoya’s eyes lit up. This is a promising young man! I don’t know the status of legal professions in C Country, but most people are imdiately impressed when they hear ’law.’ A doctorate from C Country? He must have a bright future! Besides, even though this guy is cheerful and talkative, his gaze hasn’t left Yan Xixi’s face, and he often fumbles his words. It’s clearly a youthful crush; his intentions are so obvious! And though he isn’t as handso as Huang Xiaojue, he’s very energetic and sunny, healthy and vibrant—definitely a promising young man. If things don’t work out with Third Young Master, this fellow is an excellent choice! But then again, he’s Huang Xiaojue’s relative... Forget it. Even though they’re such distant relatives they might as well not be related at all, there’s no need to get entangled with that family again, right?
Yan Xixi naturally didn’t want to talk much with him either. However, Li Zhen was articulate and spoke with ease, clearly a sincere and straightforward person, so she didn’t dislike him. She exchanged a few polite pleasantries with him and then saw him to the door.
As she was turning back, she heard Li Zhen call out, "Yan Xixi."
She turned to face him again. "Is there anything else?"
Li Zhen rubbed his head. "Um... can I call you in the future?"
She smiled.
Li Zhen was overjoyed. He rubbed his head again and strode away.
Xu Xiaoya pulled her into the office, closed the door, and whispered conspiratorially, "Xixi, that guy has a crush on you."
"Hah, you’re overthinking things. He’s just an alumnus. Besides, didn’t you hear him say he’s going back to C Country tomorrow?"
"That’s true. They’ll be worlds apart; it’s impossible for them to et. So, he’s out."
Yan Xixi couldn’t help but chuckle. Out? What was I ever in? There was no ga to begin with, okay?
She suddenly looked a bit troubled. "Xiaoya, I’m a little scared."
"What are you scared of?"
"Tomorrow, I’m eting that online friend of mine."
Xu Xiaoya laughed. "Really? Why are you eting him?"
