"Not repaired yet?"
"Not for a while. I’ve called the repair shop; they said it’ll be at least another month."
After a hearty dinner, the two were strolling through a shopping center. Top-notch shopping centers are a class apart, gathering luxury goods from all over the world. In this day and age of globalization, distance is less of an obstacle. You don’t necessarily need to fly to Paris or Milan to find fine clothes.
Tired of shopping, they found so chairs and sat, watching the tycoons pass by.
When local tycoons weren’t traveling abroad, this was their favorite shopping destination.
As long as they weren’t comparing themselves to celebrities and socialites on the red carpet, the styles available here were more than enough for their local social circles.
All the won there, without exception, were carrying bags from major luxury brands. Out of professional habit, Yan Xixi and Xu Xiaoya silently noted the latest models being carried.
A middle-aged woman walked by, carrying an extrely rare, limited-edition bag.
Xu Xiaoya lowered her voice. "There are two of those bags at most in this city. That woman must be incredibly wealthy."
Yan Xixi was also intrigued; observing it with a professional eye made it all the more fascinating.
Just then, her gaze fell on another bag: What a coincidence! It was the other bag from that limited edition.
Xu Xiaoya also saw it.
But when she got a clear look at the person approaching, Xu Xiaoya gave a dry cough.
Zhou Ting was a regular here, accompanied by Mrs. Huang and Huang Xiaojue. Only Zhou Xiaoxuan was missing.
Evidently, as Zhou Ting and Huang Xiaojue’s relationship beca more apparent, Zhou Xiaoxuan no longer needed to be a third wheel; her presence wasn’t needed anymore.
Zhou Ting and Huang Xiaojue displayed no overly intimate behavior, but Mrs. Huang was clearly treating Zhou Ting with the affection one would show a daughter.
It was not surprising that they all t here.
Yan Xixi glanced at Huang Xiaojue, but before he could react, she had already looked away.
Zhou Ting was quite composed. "Miss Yan, what a coincidence to et you both here again."
Coincidence? Yan Xixi wondered, then responded indifferently.
Mrs. Huang’s gaze fell on Yan Xixi’s face. She noticed Yan Xixi had lost her usual spark. Even with light makeup, she couldn’t hide the deep, swollen circles around her eyes. She looked more haggard than ever. However, she was clad in na brands, exuding an aura she had never had before.
Mrs. Huang smiled. "Xixi, I heard that you got into Harvard. That’s quite impressive."
Looking at her feignedly intimate smile, Yan Xixi also smiled. "Auntie, you really have up-to-date news."
"Isn’t that the truth? This city is so small; any bit of news gets around, doesn’t it?"
Xu Xiaoya imdiately understood. Mrs. Huang was clearly insinuating sothing. Obviously, everyone knew that the Third Master had left. Was this schadenfreude?
"We’ve known each other for many years. I’ve been wanting to congratulate you but never had the chance. Xixi, let congratulate you properly today."
Yan Xixi was still all smiles. "Thank you. I’ll invite you all to dinner when I return after my studies."
"Great, we’ll definitely wait for that al. It’ll be a feather in our caps. By the way, when are you leaving for the United States?"
Yan Xixi replied nonchalantly, "I’m in no hurry. I plan to enjoy myself for a bit first."
"Yes, that’s true. Girls shouldn’t only focus on studying; it’s important to take care of your health..." Mrs. Huang chuckled aningfully. "Xixi, look at you. You must have been working too hard with your studies recently; you’ve even got dark circles under your eyes. I’ve never seen you so haggard before..."
Xu Xiaoya was inwardly furious. That Mrs. Huang, a real vixen! She obviously ca to gloat. She’s clearly trying to get revenge for what happened with Yang Wei by kicking Xixi when she’s down. Could she be any more obvious?
