"I’ve paid the price too! What else do you want?"

She scoffed coldly, gripping the knife handle tightly. "Wan Donglin, you shaless man! You think I don’t understand? You plan to wed and see as a hindrance, so you wish to toss aside. But couldn’t you just have said it? Do you think I would cling on and refuse to leave? But you are consud by greed. After having your fun, you even attempt to trade for other benefits..."
His eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze piercing. "When did I ever attempt to trade you off?"
"Last night!"
"Last night? How was I committing heinous acts last night?"
"You think I didn’t hear? You wanted to pawn off to that fat man in exchange for benefits, and you think I don’t know? Wan Donglin, don’t even think about it! I’m telling you, I am leaving this place today. If you dare try to stop , I’ll take you down with ..."
He stared fixedly at her hand clutching the fruit knife, then suddenly stepped forward.
The knife in her hand shifted, its tip aid almost directly at his heart.
"Stay there... Stay right there..."
He paid her no heed, lunging forward and twisting her hand that gripped the fruit knife. Yan Xixi, caught off guard, gritted her teeth and fought back desperately. The knife angled downwards; in the struggle, it stabbed into the back of his hand. Yan Xixi’s grip loosened, and he imdiately knocked the knife to the ground. Blood instantly gushed from the back of his hand.
Yan Xixi was stunned for a mont, then turned to run.
The next mont, he had already caught her around the waist.
She pushed him away with all her might, rasping, "Let go... Let go! You animal, Wan Donglin, you scoundrel! It’s all your fault! You killed my mother! You left with nowhere to turn! Wan Donglin, I will never forgive you, never!"
Her tears poured down like rain as she beat him with all her strength.
However, he paid no mind to the blood on the back of his hand and rely held her tighter, his laughter like a demon’s. "So, you’ve hated all along! You acted so obediently these past few days, I actually thought you’d given in. I never expected this. Hahaha, excellent, Yan Xixi! You won’t forgive ? On what grounds? What makes you think you have the power to make pay? What can you possibly do to ? Hahaha..."
She used all her strength to hit him but couldn’t break free from his hold. Her vision blurred, and she collapsed.
Doctor Xu arrived late. As he stepped through the door, he said in a low voice, "Mr. Wan, I apologize for being late; the traffic was heavy..."
"It’s fine as long as you’re here. Please go check on her."
After a thorough examination, Doctor Xu appeared relieved. "Mr. Wan, she’s fine. She was probably just extrely frightened. Combined with not having eaten for a long ti, she simply lacked energy. She’ll be all right once she’s had sothing to eat and drink."
The sunset light stread into the room. Wan Donglin stood in the shadows, his expression unreadable. He just nodded faintly. "That’s good."
Yan Xixi remained unconscious for a full day. By the ti she opened her eyes, it was already dusk on the following day.
Seeing Wan Donglin beside her, she recoiled as if she had seen a ghost, scrambling back hastily. Wan Donglin stood up and said casually, "Yan Xixi, are you feeling better?"
She turned her head away, refusing to look at him.
"I have things to do. I won’t be back for a few days."
