"What’s the matter? Disappointed to see in person?" Qi Longbing eyed her with amusent. People said this woman was astute, yet she had done sothing so foolish last night. She had climbed out the window—if she had slipped and fallen...

Qi Longbing’s thoughts turned to the presidential suite’s bathroom, and he still felt a lingering fear, especially since she had been half-drunk. An inexplicable surge of resentnt welled in his heart.

Hua Xiaomo twitched the corner of her lips, squeezing out a smile. "President Qi, you really have a way with words. Thank you for arranging the surgery for my mother." Without a doubt, that must be the reason, but how had this guy suddenly had a change of heart?

"Arranging..." Qi Longbing sneered, his gaze shadowed with an obscure malice. "It seems Miss Hua wasn’t too pleased with last night’s arrangent...?"

Hua Xiaomo looked at him. Cursing inwardly once again, the phrase ’a wolf in sheep’s clothing’ suddenly ca to mind. But she replied with a light smile, "What are you talking about, President Qi? Last night, I suddenly rembered I had sothing urgent to take care of, so..."

Her voice trailed off, and Hua Xiaomo quirked her lips slyly. "President Qi, you’re not the petty sort, are you?"

Playing mind gas with him? Qi Longbing smiled. "What do you think? Am I the petty type?"

"I know President Qi is generous and kind, a rare good person, a great philanthropist," Hua Xiaomo complinted, while suppressing the disgust deep inside. What a load of bullshit! A good person? A great philanthropist? Him?

Qi Longbing watched Hua Xiaomo’s face, plastered with a forced smile, and casually picked up a docunt from the desk. He laughed nonchalantly, "And how would Miss Hua know I like to do charity work? That I’m a great philanthropist?"

Hua Xiaomo looked at him, her face still lifted in a smile, but inwardly a cold chill settled in her heart.

"However, I’ve never done charity work for free..." Qi Longbing said, tossing the docunt onto the corner of the desk. "Take a look. If you have no objections, then sign it. But I don’t want to see any more of last night’s disgraceful behavior—pilfering and sneaking about, climbing walls and windows!"

You’re the disgraceful one!

Hua Xiaomo was so angry she wanted to curse him back. Her amber eyes, gleaming with a cunning light, fixed on the docunt on the table. "What is this?"

"Why don’t you take a look and find out..." Qi Longbing’s smile was faint and enigmatic, a hint of a businessman’s cunning and ruthlessness glinting in his blue eyes.

Hua Xiaomo felt uneasy at the sight of his smiling face; it reeked of ill intent. She clearly rembered the feeling when she had seen the contract for the acquisition of the Hua Clan in his office.

"It has nothing to do with ; I don’t want to see it," Hua Xiaomo retorted, her refusal unmistakable.

Her words cast a subtle shadow over Qi Longbing’s excessively handso features. "Your mother is still in surgery, Miss Hua. Being so oblivious to the current circumstances... I will get very angry. And when I get angry, the consequences can be very severe!"

Is that so? You’d best just keel over and die from anger then. Hua Xiaomo shot him a scornful glance and quickly flipped through the docunt.

The beginning detailed her mother’s dical condition and such, but further on, it began to ntion costs. Then, the final sentence bewildered her: the remaining unpaid fees were all to be charged to the Qi Imperial Court account.

Hua Xiaomo’s eyes narrowed with suspicion. Turning to the last page, she found a contract laid out before her. She froze for a mont, instantly grasping its aning, and without a second look, slamd the docunt shut.

"So quick... you’ve understood it already?" Qi Longbing smiled elegantly, his handso face exuding a trace of devilish charm.

Hua Xiaomo looked at him. His face was stunningly beautiful, yet why did it seem so nauseating to her?

Having collected her thoughts, Hua Xiaomo clenched her hand slightly, struggling to suppress her emotions. "President Qi, I already apologized to you for the incident at the Haosheng Rose Hotel. Why are you still being so aggressive? Besides, I don’t believe there’s any deep-seated hatred between us."

Just because of that one kick, he wants to drive to a dead end? Fine. I, Hua Xiaomo, have already humbled myself enough before him. As for the Hua Clan’s problems, I can temporarily put them aside—if anyone’s to bla, it’s Hua Renda for the mismanagent that led to such a fate.

Hearing this, Qi Longbing laughed cunningly. "We don’t have any deep-seated hatred, so what I’m doing is actually helping you!"

"Helping ?" Hua Xiaomo snorted coldly. I truly want to grab that docunt and smash it on his handso face, just to see if he can still smile so brilliantly!

Qi Longbing tapped his fingers on the glossy desk, smiling elegantly. "This surgery fee of over a million yuan—I can pay it all for you. Of course, your price is to be my girlfriend for one month. Think about what a bargain that is."

Hua Xiaomo looked at him, a dark, enigmatic light in her eyes. She didn’t answer him right away. After a mont, she said, "President Qi... may I ask, why are you so insistent on being your girlfriend?" He’s probably just tired of ’gourt delicacies’ and wants to try so ’plain greens.’

Qi Longbing smiled. "That’s a good question. To this day, I still haven’t found a single feminine virtue in you."

"..." Hua Xiaomo clenched her fist. So what if I lack virtues? Do I need this guy to pass judgnt on ?

Gazing down at her, Qi Longbing’s handso lips curved slightly, a hint of teasing mockery in his smirk. "Perhaps it’s because you haven’t beco a true woman yet. So, I am willing to spend the ti to ’rescue’ you, to unearth all your hidden virtues."

Damn it! Could he possibly be any more shaless?

When Hua Xiaomo felt his gaze roving wantonly over her face, it was as if she had swallowed a large, green-headed fly; she couldn’t help but feel nauseated. Moreover, when she recalled his actions in the presidential suite that night, the way he’d smirked at her attempts, a blush spread to the roots of her ears.

And this guy has the audacity to say these things so brazenly today? Even producing this damn contract!

"President Qi’s ’kindness’... I’m afraid I’m truly not fortunate enough to accept it!"

Looking at Qi Longbing’s unchangingly handso face, Hua Xiaomo couldn’t be bothered to guess his thoughts and continued in one breath, "If President Qi is tired of sophisticated older won and fancies schoolgirl types, he can very well go to a college. I believe there will be a long line of ’lolitas’ waiting for President Qi to ’discover’ and ’rescue’."

A hint of mockery flickered in her amber eyes. Hua Xiaomo disdainfully averted her gaze, no longer eting his.

Qi Longbing didn’t reply. Suddenly, the atmosphere in the dean’s office grew heavy and silent, filled with an unspoken strangeness and an eerie tension.

Occasionally, it seed the only sound was the soft tapping of fingers on the desk.

After a while, a clear, deep, and magnetic male voice finally spoke, "So, Miss Hua, you’re saying you’re unwilling?"
