But even quicker, Hua Xiaomo clapped her hand firmly over Dong Xiaoyou’s gaping mouth, her own head starting to ache. Her amber eyes glinted darkly. "Please, don’t scream, okay? You make it sound like I’m guilty of sothing. Everything I said earlier was just a joke. I’m perfectly normal; I don’t have any weird fetishes!"
Dong Xiaoyou’s wide eyes flickered. Only after she was sure of Hua Xiaomo’s words did she let her take her hand away.
"So... what do you want, coming to my room in the middle of the night instead of sleeping? A candle-lit chat? Spare ! I’m a mother now. I have to take care of my baby during the day; I really don’t have ti to waste with you!" Dong Xiaoyou directly shut down any potential argunts.
"Oh, co on! You’re only my age, just twenty-one, not even twenty-two yet. Don’t act so old and nopausal, always bringing the baby into it. Co on, let’s go! Let’s go out and have so fun!" Hua Xiaomo said with a laugh, her eyes shining with a cat-like playfulness.
"What? You want to go to a nightclub *now*?" Dong Xiaoyou stared at her, incredulous.
"Oh, please, don’t make such a big deal out of it! I’m just feeling so cooped up and want to go out, have so fun, and change my mood. Are you coming with or not?" Hua Xiaomo said quickly. She felt like she was about to go crazy from the recent string of events.
"Alright, alright, I’ll go with you, okay? Just wait for to change," Dong Xiaoyou said, quickly changing into a simple dark blue dress.
"Why are you wearing sothing so dark? I still prefer you in white. Go change again," Hua Xiaomo said with a frown, then pushed Dong Xiaoyou back into the room.
"This Xiao Mo... she’s really sothing else! I just finished changing, and now she wants to change again." Dong Xiaoyou chuckled, then erged in a white jumpsuit.
With her long hair flowing, she looked absolutely bewitching.
"Wow, so beautiful!" Hua Xiaomo couldn’t resist pouncing on her and giving her a big hug. "Xiao You, my beautiful Xiao You, I absolutely adore you! If I ever get married, I’ll just marry you. Who needs n anyway?"
"Are you crazy? Weren’t you the one who said you had no weird fetishes? Alright, are we still going out to party or what?" Dong Xiaoyou said with a smile, gently nudging her before linking arms.
"Yes! Let’s go!" Hua Xiaomo laughed. The two girls then quickly and cautiously snuck out through the front door.
「...」
「Inside the Brilliant Starlight Bar.」
The atmosphere was electric, a vibrant scene of colorful lights and pulsating music. Young n and won in an array of revealing outfits were everywhere.
Everyone was singing and dancing with abandon, a scene of what could only be described as ’wild revelry.’
When Hua Xiaomo and Dong Xiaoyou arrived, they were instantly swept up by the thumping music and the intensely stimulating visuals.
"Xiao You, co on, let’s dance!" Hua Xiaomo said, pulling Dong Xiaoyou with her towards the center of the dance floor to sway to the music.
But after dancing for a short while, Dong Xiaoyou stopped. Smiling at Hua Xiaomo, she said, "Xiao Mo, you keep dancing. I’m going to rest on that sofa over there for a bit."
"Okay! I’ll co find you later!" Hua Xiaomo said. Then, suddenly grabbing Dong Xiaoyou’s arm again, she added a soft caution, "If you want a drink, get it yourself from the bar. Don’t just drink anything here, okay?"
"I know." Dong Xiaoyou smiled back at her, then wove her way through the throngs of people towards the sofas.
Hua Xiaomo glanced in Dong Xiaoyou’s direction, then let her body continue to move with the music. Eyes slightly closed, it felt as if the loud, chaotic rhythm could wash away all her worries.
Quite coincidentally, in a second-floor private room of this very nightclub, a tall, somber male figure was present.
Several empty champagne bottles lay on the carved tea table in front of him.
The door to the private room was open. He was the only one inside, as if he dreaded the silence.
Excessive silence always led to overthinking.
The man grabbed champagne bottles and relentlessly guzzled them down. Before long, the table was haphazardly littered with empties.
Another equally tall, imposing man, evidently his bodyguard, stood outside the door. He kept the motley crowd from approaching this area.
"Bring more wine!" the man’s hoarse, deep voice rasped impatiently in the room.
"President Qi, you’ve already had a lot to drink. You can’t go on like this," Yu Bao said, walking into the room. Besides Qi Longbing, there was no one else in the spacious private room.
He knew President Qi was suffering. Tonight, he would most likely drink himself into a stupor here.
"Get wine! Wine! Do you hear ? If you don’t bring it, I’ll fire you imdiately! Make you get lost, now!" Qi Longbing roared, infuriated.
His eyes were bloodshot from the alcohol, and his handso face was flushed an intimidating crimson.
Strands of his long hair fell across his eyelids, making him squint slightly.
A dangerous, bewitching glint shone from the depths of his eyes, leaving even Yu Bao, a fellow man, montarily stunned.
But Qi Longbing’s deafening roar startled Yu Bao even more, sending a cold sweat down his spine.
"President Qi, you’re in a bad mood. How about I call Miss Pan to co and keep you company?" Yu Bao had just finished speaking when—
Suddenly, Qi Longbing, who had been slumped over, lifted his head. He looked at Yu Bao and, with a drunken smirk, uttered a single word: "Scram..."
He was well and truly being made the punching bag.
He had lost Hua Xiaomo, and his mood was at rock bottom. But life had to go on, didn’t it? No matter how much he hated it, he had to accept his loss, right? Besides, he couldn’t stay away from the Qi Family forever.
Seeing Yu Bao still standing there motionless, Qi Longbing suddenly snatched a bottle from the table. BANG! Without a word, he coldly hurled it at Yu Bao’s head.
Startled, Yu Bao quickly ducked. The champagne bottle flew out the open door of the private room. Its montum carried it across the hallway, hurtling towards the vast, circular main hall on the first floor, which was a scene of lively, chaotic revelry.
Music, shouts of excitent, and whistles rged into a cacophony. The entire hall was a sea of bobbing heads, incredibly lively.
No one noticed the bottle arcing down from sowhere on the second floor.
And it was heading straight for Hua Xiaomo.
As the projectile neared, it moved too fast for eyes to track. Besides, with the dazzling, flashing lights, no one paid it any mind.
The bottle hurtled down, unerringly on its path.
Just as Hua Xiaomo looked up, she saw the object. She imdiately shoved aside the people around her, shouting, "Watch out!"
Hua Xiaomo moved so quickly that when she pushed the people in front of her, they, in turn, knocked into those ahead of them. This chain reaction sent several people stumbling and falling onto the dance floor. The scene instantly descended into chaos.
"Hey, who’s that? What’s with all the pushing?" soone yelled.
