"What do you an, ’don’t be like this’? Candy is my own daughter too, you know? I’m her father, and you’re my woman. Besides, I’m going to marry you soon," Qi Longbing said with a smile. He steadied Hua Xiaomo’s waist with one hand and hooked her chin with the other, making her face his.
Hua Xiaomo looked at him. His eyes shone with a light she simply couldn’t escape. She found herself almost lting under the intensity of his gaze, which was filled with deep affection and made her heart thump wildly.
She knew she was once again trapped, alas, with no way to stop herself from falling further. Just looking at Qi Longbing felt like returning to many previous monts they had shared. She found it really hard to resist the desire to be with him, yet she also feared it might sohow be bad for Candy.
"You might not be able to get a divorce from Miss Pan!" Hua Xiaomo simply said.
She thought of how strong-willed Pan Yutong was, and how wealthy. To marry Qi Longbing, Pan Yutong had resorted to many sches, but she had still succeeded. Divorcing her now would surely not be so simple.
That’s why, no matter the situation, she felt she could face this problem rationally. Of course, she hoped Qi Longbing could also face it rationally and not make such a decision on a whim.
If Qi Longbing insisted on getting custody of Candy, it would be a devastating blow to her. She absolutely would not allow him to take her Candy.
"What do you an by ’might not’? I’m telling you, Pan Yutong can’t stop . No one can stop , Qi Longbing, from making the decisions I want to make," Qi Longbing declared.
In saying this, it was as if he was telling her that she, too, couldn’t go against his wishes and commands. He planned to marry her and regain custody of their daughter. These were his non-negotiable goals, and no one could stop him.
"What if Miss Pan refuses to agree to the divorce? What’s your plan then? To sue her in court?" Hua Xiaomo pressed.
Qi Longbing smiled faintly. "Xiao Mo, are you worried about ? Or are you worried that I can’t extricate myself from this marriage? Well, you can rest assured. There’s nothing I can’t do, only things I want to do and things I don’t."
Hua Xiaomo was startled and clasped his hands with both of hers. "Don’t be like that, please!"
"What’s wrong? Isn’t this your room? The child can’t see us here," Qi Longbing said, cutting her off.
Hua Xiaomo watched him with trepidation.
The bouquet of roses lay before her, its blooms particularly enchanting.
"Qi Longbing, can you please not be like this?" Hua Xiaomo said anxiously. She was terrified that Candy might suddenly barge into her room. How awkward it would be if Candy saw them together!
"Xiao Mo, I love you so much," Qi Longbing said. "Do you know why I ca to find you tonight? It’s because I couldn’t sleep. I wanted to feel what a ho is like. I wanted to be with you and Candy, to take good care of you both.
"Because you are my wife, and Candy is my daughter. And this is my ho. Hua Xiaomo, I really, truly love you so very much!"
Listening to him, Hua Xiaomo felt slightly intoxicated. She looked at him and said, "Qi Longbing, you actually have a wife and a ho, but they are not in City B. Why bother with all this?"
Qi Longbing watched her with a smile, tempted to teach her a harsh lesson. Why did she always like to bring up such topics? He had long stopped considering the ho in City A as his own. He’d never considered that place his ho. Now that he saw Hua Xiaomo and his daughter, he knew they were his true family. He would rather stay in City B and not leave; he would if it were possible.
"But why do I feel like you’re more like my wife? And I want to be with you every day? And my daughter, my Candy... Right, I’m going to make her acknowledge her lineage. She should take the Qi surna. Have a good think about what na we should give Candy. She can’t always be called Candy, right?" Qi Longbing said with a smile.
This was sothing he had considered for a long ti. He knew he had to bring Candy back to the Qi Family and ensure she acknowledged her lineage. She was a Qi. Moreover, his daughter wouldn’t be illegitimate; he would ensure she had proper status. This ant his marriage with Pan Yutong was definitely over.
"Ah, you really want Candy to acknowledge her lineage," Hua Xiaomo said, sowhat surprised. Didn’t that clearly an her custody of Candy might be taken away? She was terrified.
"I beg you, don’t fight over Candy’s custody, okay? I’m her mother. I’ve taken care of her for so long. I understand my daughter, and I can care for her well on my own. I beg you not to take away her custody," Hua Xiaomo pleaded, looking at Qi Longbing.
She knew she couldn’t compete with him, but she still hoped he would consider their history and not fight her for custody of their daughter.
Qi Longbing looked at her, one hand on her cheek. "Candy is my daughter. Her custody inherently belongs to both of us. So why don’t you marry ? Wouldn’t it be wonderful for both of us to raise her together?"
Hua Xiaomo gave an awkward smile, thinking of Pan Yutong. "Forget it. Let’s wait until you’ve dealt with Pan Yutong’s issue!" Indeed, there was no telling if Pan Yutong would divorce him. What if he couldn’t? Then he wouldn’t be able to keep his promise, would he?
Why? Why on earth is this happening?
Is he doing this out of pity for ? Am I, the pitiable one, truly destined to lose my own child?
Why? Why does he keep saying these things? Hadn’t I already decided to resort to any ans necessary?
This was the worst scenario I had prepared myself for. But why, now that it’s co to the crunch, do I want to give up?
Hua Xiaomo, what exactly are you thinking?
Hua Xiaomo’s thoughts were in turmoil; she felt utterly lost and tornted. What could she do to stop feeling this way?
She truly loathed who she was becoming. She had lost herself, transforming into soone she no longer recognized.
Suddenly, that inner voice stirred again.
Xiao Mo, Qi Longbing is as ferocious as a wolf or a tiger. If he finds out you’re with , he won’t let either of us go. You must get so leverage on him! Only then can we be together forever!
