When Hua Xiaomo heard Qi Longbing’s voice, her heart softened. She answered, "Qi Longbing, I’m at the company, working. How about you? Are you doing well?"

"I’m okay, just missing you a lot. Do you miss ?" Qi Longbing asked. He was smiling as he held the phone, feeling as if she were right there beside him.

That feeling was genuinely sweet, a sweetness like tasting honey, as if he were soaking in a vat of it and never wanted to wake up.

He imagined Hua Xiaomo, just from her voice on the phone, must also be smiling like him, her mood incredibly joyful. He pictured them constantly thinking of each other, of the feeling of having the other by their side—so sweet, so wonderful, it was impossible to forget.

"Yes, of course, I miss you! And it’s not just ; Little Candy misses you a lot too. Little Candy often asks , ’When are you coming back? When will you co back and take her to the amusent park to play? And then to the movies, and then to Ocean Animal World, and to wander around the zoo?’"

"She really misses you. So, once you’re done with your business, you must co back a bit earlier. Then, we can take our child to the cinema to watch a big movie together," Hua Xiaomo said, laughing.

Her eyes shone brightly. Even as she gazed at the scenery before her, her mind was filled with images of Qi Longbing—picturing his expression as he took Candy and her to the cinema. Ah, those monts were so wonderful to recall! And Candy really adored him; she wanted him to be her dad.

"Alright! Tell Candy I’ll be back soon. I’ll take her to the amusent park, and we’ll also go to Ocean Animal World, and then to the Dinosaur Museum. We’ll do lots and lots of fun things, and I’ll buy toys for her. Tell her I’m thinking about her all the ti!" Qi Longbing said with a smile.

A smile touched the corners of his eyes. At the re thought of Hua Xiaomo and Candy, his heart overflowed with imnse joy. He truly longed to have them by his side.

To live and work with Hua Xiaomo, to care for Candy together—what a blissful existence that would be! He deeply yearned for that kind of family life.

So, having a child was truly such a blissful thing, wasn’t it? He could accompany her through her childhood, educate her well, and see her beco a version of himself.

It would be as if he had returned to his own childhood. He would be so happy, so joyful, feeling as though he had beco young again, reliving those childhood days once more.

More importantly, he would have his love by his side. Hua Xiaomo was the woman he loved most, and he was willing to give everything for her. He deeply regretted letting go of her hand back then. He should have held her tight, given her everything she wanted, and then embraced both her and Candy in his arms.

But it wasn’t too late. He was determined to achieve all these goals. As long as he, Qi Longbing, didn’t give up, no one could force him to abandon Hua Xiaomo and Candy. Of course, the re thought of giving them up was unbearably painful.

Even now, he couldn’t imagine what would be left of his life—Qi Longbing’s life—without Candy and Hua Xiaomo.

Perhaps he would be left with nothing but money. And piles of money would only intensify the emptiness in his spirit. He felt that without his beloved and his child by his side, the world would seem void, a place where living itself felt loathso.

This would lead to an ever-deepening sense of emptiness, and he didn’t know if he might eventually have a ntal breakdown.

Therefore, a normal family life was what he needed. This was not an atmosphere he could create with Pan Yutong. What he craved was the feeling of being with Hua Xiaomo—the connection born from love, the warmth of genuine emotion, the sense of family.

He fondly rembered his ti in B City, living with Hua Xiaomo. Those natural feelings, that sense of connection, had brought him such happiness; every mont had felt blissful.

He and Hua Xiaomo would face the challenges of raising a child and the worries of her growth together. They would understand and care for each other, always prioritizing their child, sharing the concerns and the joys of parenthood. This kind of normal family life was what he truly needed.

He desperately wanted to get everything back on track. He knew he needed to return to the right path now, and he would work hard to achieve this goal.

His thoughts were very clear now. He knew what steps he needed to take at this stage of his life. If past detours had led to an unhappy life, he would now firmly grasp this chance for happiness.

He wouldn’t let this happiness slip away again. He would strive to reclaim it, to bring back Hua Xiaomo, and to bring back Candy.

Their family of three should never have been separated. Such cruelty was unbearable for anyone. Yes, he and Candy were father and daughter, bound by blood.

How could a father and his own daughter ever be separated? No matter how the world changed, this blood tie could not be broken. And, of course, he absolutely could not let Candy suffer scorn in society, to feel the pain when others said she had no father. He knew how much that would hurt her.

Perhaps no one else could understand that kind of pain; only soone in her position could truly grasp it. He couldn’t bear to imagine it. But at this mont, he was resolute: he had to divorce Pan Yutong, no matter the cost. Even if the old man disagreed, even if it ant giving up his position as President of Qi Imperial Court, he would not leave Hua Xiaomo and Candy.

He felt that Hua Xiaomo and Candy were his true family. If he were to abandon his wife and child, his responsibilities in society would cease to exist. What kind of man would he be then?

In this world, if he couldn’t protect his own wife and child, then he truly wasn’t fit to be called a real man. So, what use was all that money? It was useless, completely and utterly useless.

No amount of money could buy the happiness he truly desired; it would only lead to empty thoughts, and his sense of contentnt would steadily diminish.
