My daughter is very thoughtful and also considers things for herself, Hua Xiaomo mused. After all, she still doesn’t know that Qi Longbing is her biological father. Yet, she could observe that I like Qi Longbing very much, and he seems to like a lot as well. This must be a family’s intuition!
Then, Hua Xiaomo made breakfast for Candy. Looking at her, she asked, "What do you like to eat, Candy? How about I make you a bowl of noodles today? It’s not good for you to eat rice noodles too often. Oh dear, I feel like I’ve eaten too many noodles myself, and I’m getting sick of them. I want so rice noodles."
"That’s fine, Mom! Let’s eat separately then. I won’t have rice noodles today, but I also feel sick of them; I want to eat noodles. Is that okay, Mom? Let’s eat separately: I’ll have noodles, and you have rice noodles," Candy said with a smile, watching Hua Xiaomo. At this mont, a faint smile touched Hua Xiaomo’s strained cheeks.
Mom’s smile is so beautiful, Candy thought. Mom is the most beautiful mother in the world. If Mom is Snow White, then Handso Uncle must be Prince Charming.
If Handso Uncle could be with us, that would be so great! Didn’t Handso Uncle say he would be back tonight? Once he’s back, he’ll be with us, which would be perfect!
"Okay, then wait here for . I’ll go make you so noodles right now, then I’ll make myself a bowl of rice noodles, and we’ll have a big feast together, okay?" Hua Xiaomo looked at her daughter, her face brimming with smiles. My daughter is my little ray of sunshine, she felt.
Yes, ever since I’ve had Candy by my side, I don’t know how much happier I’ve beco. My work has also beco much smoother. I wonder if it’s Candy’s influence that motivates to work harder and harder.
Now, to give Candy a great future, I must work tirelessly and earn a lot of money. Enough for Candy to spend, to buy her beautiful clothes and toys, and then, to enroll her in the best schools.
Well, Candy’s school is now an elite institution, and it costs a large sum of money every month. Without substantial financial resources, it’s impossible for her to continue there.
So, all my struggles and efforts are for Candy, for my daughter—to provide her with the best education and the best life possible.
"Bye, Mom! Hurry up with the food; I’ll be waiting for you right here in the living room," Candy said with a smile, watching Hua Xiaomo.
As her mom ran off to the kitchen, Candy wondered, Now, what should I do?
Oh dear, I might as well play with my toys for a bit, she thought. Candy then picked up the large doll from the corner. This doll is so much fun! she mused, playing with it. But after a short while, she grew bored. I’d rather play with my Pi Qiu!
She started kicking the Pi Qiu around the room and—BANG! She ended up breaking a vase. Oh no, oh no! Mom is going to scold now!
At that mont, Hua Xiaomo heard the noise. She ca out of the kitchen, and upon seeing Candy had broken a vase with the Pi Qiu, her eyes widened. She said sternly, "Candy, how could you do that? How can you kick a Pi Qiu inside the villa? Who told you to kick a Pi Qiu inside the villa? If you keep this up, I’m going to confiscate all your Pi Qius! Yes, and all these dolls too! I’ll take them all away, and you won’t be allowed to play with them. If you keep being disobedient, this will be your punishnt!"
Hua Xiaomo was truly angry. I chose every single decoration in here so carefully, she thought. How could Candy just break it like this? It breaks my heart! She spent so long renovating this villa; everything in this house was installed with her own hands. She truly loved their ho and was very protective of it. Naturally, she couldn’t allow anyone to destroy it. Whether it was the material loss or the sentintal value, Candy’s Pi Qiu breaking an antique vase... it was truly unbearable!
Candy looked pitifully at her mother, her little face about to crumple into tears. She hadn’t expected her mother to get so incredibly angry. Oh my, why would Mom get so mad? Just over a Pi Qiu, was it worth getting so angry? Oh, no, it must be because of the vase. But is the vase more important than ? I didn’t do it on purpose, though. Didn’t the teacher say that if it wasn’t on purpose, a child’s apology should be enough? Yes, I need to apologize to Mom!
The thought imdiately struck Candy, and with a woeful voice, she said, "I’m sorry, Mom, I didn’t do it on purpose! Please don’t be angry. Your angry face is so scary, just like that Witch! Can’t you please stop being angry?"
"I am a good kid, a very obedient kid! I listen to you, I listen to the teacher, I heed the adults. I never cause trouble or misbehave. My teachers and classmates at school all praise !"
"You’re the only one who doesn’t praise ! You can’t criticize anymore. If you criticize , it will hurt my self-esteem and my confidence, and then I won’t be able to study well. Will you forgive , please?" Candy cajoled, looking at Hua Xiaomo. She just hoped Hua Xiaomo would stop being so angry and would smile at her; that would make her very happy.
Hua Xiaomo looked at Candy and sohow couldn’t bring herself to stay angry anymore. Candy was just too good at acting pitiful, and she was, after all, a mischievous child. Seeing her daughter’s distress and her tears, Hua Xiaomo felt bad about scolding her further. She went over and hugged Candy, comforting her lightly, "Alright, alright, no more crying. What’s there to cry about? You’re such a crybaby just for being scolded a bit. You are not allowed to break vases with a Pi Qiu again. If you do, Mom might have to spank you next ti."
"Okay, I got it! Next ti I won’t kick the Pi Qiu inside the villa; I’ll go outside to play with it. Then you won’t scold , right?" Candy said with a smile. Then, looking toward Hua Xiaomo, her stomach growled loudly. She quickly added, "Are the noodles I asked for ready? I really want to eat; I’m so hungry! Please hurry up and bring them over."
"Alright, wait a bit, and I’ll bring the noodles soon. Mom made you noodles, but she will eat rice noodles herself. Let’s each have our own al, okay?" Hua Xiaomo said with a laugh, her amber eyes shining with a smile.
