For a while, Zi Yunsui didn’t say anything, his heart heavy. After a mont, he managed a smile and said, "Alright, I understand. I wish you and Qi Longbing the best, regardless of the outco between you. I believe you respect this relationship, take it seriously, and truly want Candy to be happy. With that in mind, I should respect your decision."
"Zi Yunsui, thank you for understanding . We’ll still be great work partners. I hope you’ll continue to do excellent work, alright?" Hua Xiaomo said, looking at him.
At that mont, her mood lifted significantly. She felt relieved that he was capable of understanding, and confident that she, in turn, could make herself understood and handle their delicate relationship well.
Zi Yunsui smiled but said nothing. His handso face, wreathed in that smile, made him feel a bit embarrassed.
It took him a mont before he looked at her and said, "Don’t worry. Purple Demon Immortal Inquiry Company was co-founded by us, and I’ll definitely stick with it. I’ll ensure our company thrives. Isn’t our next plan to make a feature film? An animated feature film is a challenge for us, but I’m sure our company will do a great job."
"The diversified developnt of the company will greatly benefit us then," Zi Yunsui said promptly.
He didn’t know why he was still saying these things. Was it to mask the sadness in his heart? He supposed so; he wasn’t used to showing sadness in front of her. It was better to project even greater tolerance—that would be good for everyone, especially Hua Xiaomo. He really didn’t want to make things difficult for her or see her heartbroken.
He also understood that loving soone wasn’t entirely about possession. As long as she was happy, that was what mattered. If she could truly find happiness, it would be a great consolation to him.
"Yes, your idea is excellent. I’ve also been thinking about the feature film. By the way, there are several scripts that seem quite well-written, including Ye Xiangxue’s, which is also quite good. When you get a chance, take them and review them carefully. See which one seems best, and then we can discuss them as a group," Hua Xiaomo said, her tone turning serious as she shifted to business matters and shared her thoughts.
She believed that conveying her ideas to every employee and ensuring they understood was crucial. After all, a company needs a core team, and every mber of this team must be aligned. Only then could their combined efforts be powerful enough to overco any obstacle and successfully complete even the most challenging tasks.
"No problem, I’ll definitely select the best scripts. I believe I’ve accumulated a lot of experience in this area. To be honest, making an animated feature film isn’t a sudden whim.
"I had this idea several years ago, but given our company’s condition at the ti, we didn’t implent it. Now, however, our company has the strength, and I feel we can proceed and do an excellent job," Zi Yunsui said confidently.
At that mont, his eyes seed to reflect only a detached professionalism.
Hua Xiaomo felt that whenever they talked about work, they could go on endlessly, and they had a great rapport as work partners.
"Wow, you’ve really planned so far ahead, that’s wonderful! Zi Yunsui, I’ve always seen you have a talent for this—always thinking one step ahead, always making excellent plans and preparations for the company. I have complete confidence in you. You truly are my very best general manager," Hua Xiaomo praised with a smile.
She felt Zi Yunsui was her right-hand man. With his help, she always managed to accomplish things excellently.
Zi Yunsui looked at her with a bittersweet smile.
At that mont, he felt a pang of discomfort. But seeing her smile, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything more. As long as she could be happy, wasn’t that better than anything? He asked for nothing more now.
"Okay, Hua Xiaomo, I’ll head out to work now. Let know if you need anything," Zi Yunsui said before exiting her office.
At that mont, he felt incredibly heavy.
This was his last hope, and to think it had already been shattered.
It was truly agonizing, but what could he say? All of this had been foreseeable. Yet, he had stubbornly held onto hope; he had always wanted to be with Hua Xiaomo. He had tried, truly tried, but in the end, it had all fallen apart. He realized Hua Xiaomo was so deeply rooted in his heart that he simply couldn’t dislodge her. But with Qi Longbing in the picture, there was no room for him. How utterly frustrating!
He truly couldn’t resign himself to this; he felt he genuinely loved Hua Xiaomo. And he believed Hua Xiaomo should love him too.
But sothing that had seed decided had suddenly changed at the last mont. It left him feeling completely caught off guard, and an overwhelming sense of regret washed over him! If it weren’t for that car accident, everything might have been different! If it weren’t for that car accident, Hua Xiaomo might already be his wife. But what was the point of such thoughts now? His heart ached with unwillingness to accept this reality!
Just as Zi Yunsui was leaving, he caught Ye Xiangxue’s gaze. At that mont, he felt a flash of irritation and quickly looked away.
Zi Yunsui didn’t look at Ye Xiangxue; he walked briskly into his own office.
「At that ti, Zi Yunsui went to a bar.」
It was his first visit to one in this area.
He didn’t like the noisy environnt of bars. He was a tech guy who, frankly, preferred imrsing himself in computer gas or chatting online. He just didn’t like frequenting bars, but today was an exception—it was his first ti ever setting foot in such a place.
He felt incredibly dejected and distressed.
He knew he had to let go of the woman he had loved for so long, even though, deep down, he still harbored feelings for her. But what could he do? It seed he was destined to be the loser, destined to be the man who could not win her heart. So, what choice did he truly have?
