Yu Bao tactfully excused himself from the room and had MS Lin bring in two cups of coffee.
Returning to this spacious and stylish office, Hua Xiaomo felt a slight sense of discomfort. However, upon seeing the daffodils that were easily visible, her mood inexplicably settled.
"Don’t just stand there, sit!" A smile rippled across Qi Longbing’s face. Looking at her, he sohow rged the image of her face with that of the Venus Statue.
"President Qi..." Hua Xiaomo managed to say, but then found herself unable to continue as she looked at his face. Yet, the smile on his face was strangely radiant!
What was he smiling about? Was there really sothing that funny?
She had originally planned to go to work at McDonald’s today, but Yu Bao insisted that President Qi wanted to see her and told her to go to the Qi Imperial Court’s office imdiately. That was how she had ended up here, left with no other choice.
Well, sotis it’s better to be frank. It saves the trouble of perpetually putting on an act, which is exhausting.
"President Qi, you have your work during the day, and I also want to manage my own ti effectively. So... I’d like to continue working at McDonald’s. However, rest assured, I will return on ti in the evenings until our one-month contract is up. Is that okay with you?"
Hua Xiaomo quickly finished her speech. Her amber eyes sparkled, eting Qi Longbing’s gaze without a hint of fluctuation or emotion.
After spending so ti with him, she felt she’d gotten to know him a little. He wasn’t the extrely flamboyant type of Young Master, nor was he particularly difficult to deal with. Of course, this was also due to her own efforts and changes; she couldn’t afford to appear weak or timid. It seed these changes had indeed been worthwhile.
But what the woman was thinking was completely different from what the man had in mind.
"No," Qi Longbing replied with a laugh, his blue eyes twinkling. "Why do you want to work at McDonald’s?" He seed to find the idea of her working as a McDonald’s server utterly perplexing.
Hua Xiaomo’s lips twitched, her expression sowhat wooden. "Because I like it."
Fine. She’d already said she wouldn’t neglect their evenings together, so why did he care what she did during the day? How utterly tireso of him, right?
"You enjoy serving people?" Qi Longbing asked, his voice rising with amusent.
"..." Hua Xiaomo’s eyes dimd for a mont, but she managed a faint, forced smile. "President Qi, I won’t violate our agreent. As for other matters, please don’t concern yourself with them."
"Is this the attitude you take when speaking to ?" Amusent still twinkled in Qi Longbing’s eyes, but his tone had shifted.
Hua Xiaomo’s expression sobered as she looked at him. "President Qi, you must be very busy right now, and you probably have many etings to attend. If there’s nothing else, I won’t disturb your work."
With that, Hua Xiaomo prepared to turn and make a swift exit.
"Did I say you could leave? You’ve got so nerve!" Qi Longbing watched her retreating figure, his grip tightening on the pen in his hand.
This woman seed determined to test his patience, always pushing his boundaries. Yet, at this mont, he genuinely didn’t want to make things too difficult for her. If only she would listen to him obediently, everything would be so much simpler. But if she insisted on not listening, then he would be left with no choice. He would have to administer a small punishnt, to gradually teach her to obey.
Hua Xiaomo froze, then turned back, a smile once again appearing on her face. "President Qi..."
