Ning Wan’s eyes reflected the handso face of the man in front of her, and her body beca rigid, even feeling a chill spreading from her feet throughout her body.
The man in front of her was none other than Xi Mohan.
Dressed in a dark gray shirt and black trousers, he stood by the door. Hearing Ning Wan’s voice, his expressionless face lifted to look at her. Though confusion flickered briefly in his deep eyes, it disappeared quickly, and he rely furrowed his brows.
Ning Wan shivered suddenly and snapped back to her senses, preparing to close the door imdiately.
She had no idea why Xi Mohan was here, nor if he had already rembered her.
However, just as she was about to shut the door, the man standing still suddenly reached out with a large hand, forcefully pushing the door open, and then stepped inside.
Seeing the man walk directly in, Ning Wan was so frightened she didn’t dare to stay any longer. Trying to leave was impossible, as he blocked the doorway. Almost reflexively, she turned around, lifting her gown, and ran towards the room.
But she underestimated his reaction speed and pace. She had just reached the doorway, not yet opened the door, when the man behind her grabbed her arm. Before she could react, she felt him forcefully pull her back, and the next mont, Ning Wan found herself crashing into an embrace.
The familiar male scent filled her nostrils, and Ning Wan’s body stiffened once again, not daring to move.
A terrifying thought popped into her head — did Xi Mohan recognize her?
The thought sent a shiver down her spine.
She couldn’t forget the last phone call Xi Mohan made to her, where he uttered words through clenched teeth in a harsh tone.
[Ning Wan, you want to leave? Fine, but don’t let find you. Otherwise, even if I have to break your legs, I’ll keep you by my side. Go ahead and try to leave, Ning Wan! I an what I say!]
She had known this man since childhood, watched him climb to his current position step by step, inadvertently learned about his other side, and witnessed how he could kill without batting an eye.
She knew deep down, this man was ruthless and rciless.
Her body began to tremble slightly, and she struggled to break free from his embrace, "You... let go... Xi Mohan, let go..."
Her voice quivered, as if facing a demon she feared.
Xi Mohan tightened his arms around Ning Wan, feeling her struggle, he couldn’t help but hold her more tightly. The pleasant scent emanating from her, whether it was perfu or shower gel, seed more like the latter to him.
Feeling her body tremble slightly, Xi Mohan felt as if his heart had been suddenly hit. He didn’t have any mory of this woman, yet the feeling of familiarity was overwhelming. He tried to recall, but couldn’t find a single mory of her.
Nonetheless, even without mories of her, Xi Mohan didn’t want to let her go. A voice inside him kept telling him, ’By any ans necessary, keep her by your side, or you will regret it later.’
He didn’t like the feeling of losing control. Used to being in charge, he suddenly released Ning Wan’s body, unexpectedly opened the door to the room, and pulled her inside.
Ning Wan’s heart skipped a beat, panic still shimring in her eyes as she was forcibly dragged into the room. By the ti she realized it, she had been tossed onto the bed by the man.
He had no regard for delicacy, yanking her onto the bed so forcefully that her calf hit the bed fra, sending a wave of pain through her leg, making her collapse onto the bed.
Even though the bed wasn’t hard, Ning Wan felt dizzy, and without thinking further, she struggled to get up.
The feeling Xi Mohan gave her was extrely dangerous.
Just as she propped up her upper body, the man standing by the bed pushed her down, covering her from above. Xi Mohan pinned her hands above her, and her legs were immobilized by him, leaving her completely unable to move.
From the mont she saw him, Ning Wan felt like she was enduring a disaster, her heart continuously on edge.
She struggled hard but couldn’t budge the man at all, almost on the verge of tears, "Xi Mohan... what are you doing? Let go..."
But the man remained unmoved, unknown emotions surfacing in his deep eyes, staring fixedly at her.
Making eye contact with him, Ning Wan froze for a second but then resud her struggle even more vigorously.
"What exactly do you want? Xi Mohan... let go... please, let go..."
Xi Mohan hadn’t spoken a word since appearing at the door.
His silence made Ning Wan all the more terrified.
The man’s past cruelty and indifference were replaying in her mind.
Images of his brutal intimacy, ti and again, invaded her mind, bringing forth all her fears.
Despite the years that had passed, she vividly rembered the days of his relentless tornt.
Tears rolled down uncontrollably, and the sparkle in her eyes diminished, replaced by a sense of despair.
Emotionally breaking down, she looked at the man before her with tearful eyes, almost setting aside all her pride to beg, "Xi Mohan, I’m begging you, let go... don’t show up in my world anymore. Let’s be strangers from now on. I won’t interfere with your life, won’t appear before you again... I’ll leave An City and never return... or I might actually die..."
