Lu Jingchen felt his body had little strength, unsure whether he was truly done for or if it was psychological. He leaned against the wall, glancing at his mother, then his father, before finally speaking softly, "The person was taken away by Qiaoqiao’s brother."
The words resonated directly in the corridor, not only heard by Xu Qian and Lu Tianming, but also by the newly arrived Gu Linyuan.
Song Qiao has a brother?
For a mont, the expressions of the three present changed several shades, their eyes directly falling on Lu Jingchen.
Xu Qian’s lips moved, taking a while to find her voice, "Jing... Jingchen, are you saying Qiaoqiao has a brother?"
Lu Jingchen nodded, uttering a sound of acknowledgnt, then, without waiting for Xu Qian to speak, said, "Mom, Qiaoqiao’s brother is the man who took you and Qiaoqiao earlier."
Xu Qian’s eyes widened instantly, her face filled with disbelief, and she couldn’t help but tighten her grip on Lu Jingchen’s shirt.
She felt she had been startled far too much today.
Qiaoqiao was in a coma, her beloved grandson’s fate uncertain, and the man who took her and Qiaoqiao was actually Qiaoqiao’s brother...
It was sothing she struggled to accept.
Observing his mother’s reaction, Lu Jingchen sighed invisibly, then assisted her to a bench nearby to sit down, saying, "Mom, Uncle doesn’t know about this yet, and I don’t want him to know about Qiaoqiao’s brother’s identity for now. After all, Uncle is quite protective, and I’m afraid he’ll disregard the fact that he’s Qiaoqiao’s brother."
Xu Qian dazedly nodded, "I understand that."
Her hand instinctively grasped her son’s wrist, yet still struggled to process, "But... that man is really Qiaoqiao’s brother? Could there be so misunderstanding? And it seed Qiaoqiao’s family only had her and Xiao Xi as their children, right?"
"Mom, we’ve already investigated the matter thoroughly. Back then, Qiaoqiao’s mother indeed bore a son but he was taken away later, almost dying in a car accident. Qiaoqiao’s mother and her family all believed that child had passed away, but no one expected him to be rescued from the accident." Lu Jingchen did not conceal anything, but neither did he intend to explain further, "I’ll explain this to you later."
Xu Qian, sort of understanding, simply nodded dazedly.
Lu Jingchen suddenly looked up towards the distance, quickly spotting Gu Linyuan standing there with one hand in his pocket, the man’s eyes instantly narrowing dangerously.
Gu Linyuan stood not far away, glancing at the direction of the operating room. In fact, he hadn’t seen Song Qiao for a long ti.
Song Qiao, his first love, it would be false to say he had no feelings, yet his mother was too overpowering back then, entirely unimpressed with Song Qiao.
He had been abroad for further studies until recently when he received a call from his mother, ntioning Song Qiao and Lu Jingchen had reconciled, and further noting Song Qiao’s current status could actually surpass their Gu Family’s. For instance, from his mother’s words, he learned that Song Qiao was not only Lu Jingchen’s significant other but also the second-largest shareholder of RQ Group.
RQ Group... the very entity their company currently urgently needed to collaborate with.
Gu Linyuan never considered disrupting Song Qiao and Lu Jingchen’s relationship now, understanding their history was over, but he had a friend hospitalized today and happened to hear about an unfortunate event involving Song Qiao and Lu Jingchen’s son, prompting him to co up out of curiosity.
Noticing Lu Jingchen watching him, Gu Linyuan rely lifted his eyes to et the man’s gaze, nodded discreetly, then turned to leave.

Song Qiao remained unconscious, having been in a coma for an entire month. Lu Wangshu was resuscitated the day after the incident and escaped life-threatening danger, now full of vitality.
In the hospital ward, a pallid woman lay with her eyes closed, seeming peacefully asleep, but those in the know understood she was in a coma, entirely devoid of consciousness.
In the ward’s couch, Lu Jingchen sat there, a laptop placed on his knees, his long, distinct fingers tapping on the keyboard, occasionally sliding across the touch screen.
Once his work was completed, he glanced at the ti on his wristwatch, then set aside the laptop, stood up, and walked to the bedside to bend down and kiss the comatose woman’s cheek.
The man looked at the seeming-sleeping delicate face, his eyes full of deep affection and tenderness, softly speaking, "Qiaoqiao, how can you sleep for so long? Wangshu is already well, able to go to and from school with Huanhuan, yet why haven’t you gotten up? You’re supposed to take the kids to school... hmm? Please wake up? Don’t keep sleeping."
His voice carried a hoarseness and depth, resembling a lover’s whispering murmur, naturally imrsing one in it.
The doctor stated she hadn’t sustained any injuries, yet she wouldn’t wake up, leaving everyone uncertain about the solution.
He had enlisted many renowned dostic professors, but to no avail, none could awaken her.
All he could do was wait, wait for her to wake up on her own.
Nearly a full month, Lu Jingchen spent almost all his ti at the hospital accompanying Song Qiao, fearful she might wake one day and not find him, causing distress.
But Lu Jingchen felt as if every day dragged on endlessly, watching the unresponsive Song Qiao left him both frustrated and worried.
He was upset at her for being unconscious for so long, and annoyed at her seemingly disregarding his feelings, intending to continue sleeping.
Yet ultimately, a sense of anxiety and fear overtook him...
He feared Song Qiao might never awaken, leaving him unsure of what to do then.

When Xu Qian arrived, Lu Jingchen was ticulously wiping Song Qiao’s cheek and fingers, as gently as if handling a treasure beyond compare.
Seeing Xu Qian co, he rely lifted his head for a glance, then softly greeted, "Mom, you’re here..."
Xu Qian looked at her son, heart aching imnsely, walked over with a thermos, and spoke, "Jingchen, maybe you should hire a caregiver for Qiaoqiao. You can’t go on like this, what if you collapse later? Qiaoqiao wouldn’t bear to see you like this upon waking."
