The man saw the receptionist looking stunned and imdiately beca more displeased, his tone growing colder, "Didn’t you hear ?"
The receptionist imdiately snapped back to reality, nodding quickly, "President, I understand."
Xi Mohan no longer looked at the receptionist, grasping Ning Wan’s hand as he continued to lead her outside without stopping.
Ning Wan, anwhile, felt as deflated as a punctured balloon, hanging her head as she followed the man, her eyes stinging, on the verge of tears. But she dared not cry, only lowering her head in silent agony.
Does it hurt inside? Naturally, it does. She had never felt so miserable before, being rejected by soone was one thing, but now she couldn’t even enter his workplace. Ning Wan had no choice but to carefully reconsider if her long-held persistence was truly right.
From the first mont she laid eyes on this man, she fell for him, feeling sothing for Xi Mohan, and unconsciously recalled the phrase she loved the most.
"My true love is a peerless hero, soday he will co wearing golden armor and riding clouds of rainbow to marry ..."
But he always ignored the line after Zixia Fairy’s words, "I guessed the beginning but couldn’t guess the end..."
Zixia Fairy ended up with Zun Treasure at last, but she also went through many trials before they finally got together.
What about her and Xi Mohan?
Xi Mohan had no clue what Ning Wan was thinking inside, nor did he speak. He directly led Ning Wan out of Xi Group, hailed a taxi, and stuffed her inside. Throughout the entire process, neither spoke a word, and Ning Wan, as if a puppet, let Xi Mohan place her in the taxi without utterance.
After putting Ning Wan into the taxi, Xi Mohan spoke into his phone, "Please, send her to the hillside mansion."
The hillside mansion was where the Ning Family Mansion was located.
The driver imdiately nodded in agreent.
Xi Mohan turned his gaze back to Ning Wan who still seed bewildered, not fully back to her senses, and lightly parted his lips to speak indifferently, "Ning Wan, this is the last ti I’ll speak to you nicely, I hope you can have so self-awareness, you’re a girl, don’t you know a girl’s dignity should be held by herself? Do you realize how much I detest you shalessly approaching ?"
Though his tone was quite gentle — sothing unprecedented, as Xi Mohan had always spoken to her coldly — this had been Ning Wan’s long-standing hope, for Xi Mohan to talk to her nicely, gently.
But she had never succeeded, instead causing Xi Mohan to loathe her all the more.
Upon hearing Xi Mohan’s words, Ning Wan belatedly turned to look at the man standing there, her lips moved but ultimately she couldn’t utter a single word.
What more could she say?
Seeing her like this, Xi Mohan grew even more irritated, all the lectures originally intended for Ning Wan remained unsaid, and he instantly closed the car door, telling the driver to leave.
The driver, likely aware of the awkwardness between the two, didn’t say much. After accepting the money Xi Mohan handed over, he imdiately started up the car.
The taxi rged into the lane.
Ning Wan sat in the back, unable to hold back her tears any longer, they rolled down uncontrollably, feeling deeply distressed. She didn’t want anyone to see her in such a disheveled state, so she lowered her head, biting her lip, crying quietly, tears falling onto her clothes.
The driver uncle probably had been listening to music, and just then the radio played a song she liked, which seed fitting for the mont.
"You say in a nasal voice it’s okay; beautiful yet painful is love’s essence, maybe touring alone is more interesting, only true endings allow fresh starts. Years of intimacy exchanged for break-up’s two words, yet you strictly allow yourself to cry just a bit. Watching you strive to smile, my heart feels as damp as impending heavy rain... Can’t we not be brave? When too hurt, heart too sour, too weak to bear... Even if won now embrace being open, knowing how to manage any plight... Can’t we not be brave? When love tires, dreams muddle without answers, can’t we honestly bawl out loud? To remove soone from one’s core pains imnsely in years’ intimate days exchanged for break-up’s two words, yet you strictly allow yourself to cry just a bit..."
