He felt utterly useless because he saw how busy his sister was with the cost of their grandfather’s surgery and couldn’t help, so he found a tutoring job. Though the money wasn’t much, he genuinely wanted to help his sister!
Song Qiao naturally knew that Mu Shinian took the job to share so of the responsibilities, but she didn’t want him, at an age where he should be studying and playing basketball like other kids, to bear such a heavy burden. These were not his responsibilities; he was still just a child.
Mu Shinian, having been watched as he grew up by her, made Song Qiao fully aware that once this child beca stubborn, not even ten bulls could pull him back. The hand by her side clenched unconsciously, and finally, she could only look up at him, her voice tender as she spoke, "Let’s go eat first, and don’t do any more tutoring. Quit the job tomorrow!"

"Shinian!" She stopped him from speaking further, saying earnestly, "You have the college entrance exam next year. Just focus on your studies. In the night streets full of people going ho or strolling around the night market, Song Qiao, carrying a shoulder bag, walked along. She had returned by bus, but probably too preoccupied with her thoughts, she had missed her stop.
Fortunately, the next stop was not too far from their community, only about a ten-minute walk.
Her head ached a bit, not only troubled by Mu Shinian’s matter but most importantly by Grandpa’s surgery cost of five hundred thousand.
As she was about to reach the entrance of the community, the mobile phone in her bag suddenly rang. Song Qiao didn’t stop; she took out the phone and saw it was a call from a forr classmate.
Suddenly rembering that she had asked this person to help her find a job, she swiped to answer and put the phone to her ear. Imdiately, a young girl’s voice ca from the other side.
"Song Qiao, right? I found out for you, Night City needs a nightclub host. If you’re free now, you can co over for a tryout. I just asked their manager, and the pay is pretty decent! Plus, if so generous bosses are happy, there might be tips!"
Song Qiao’s heart leapt with joy, and she quickly nodded, "Great, I’m free now, I can co right away."
The girl laughed, saying, "Alright, I’ll be waiting for you at the Night City entrance!"
"Thank you!" Song Qiao sincerely responded.
After hanging up the call, the previously unsmiling face of Song Qiao imdiately brightened with a smile. Although she wasn’t sure about the specific terms of the pay, she knew Night City was the most famous and luxurious entertainnt venue in An City, and she was sowhat familiar with the role of a nightclub host, essentially soone needed to lead the atmosphere in the night club.
To put it nicely, it’s a host; to put it bluntly, it’s making wealthy guests smile.
Seeing it as a rare opportunity, Song Qiao imdiately hailed a taxi despite the high fare. If she secured this job, although the money might not cover Grandpa’s surgery costs, it would still be a substantial inco.
