Undoubtedly, the man Lu Jingchen referred to was none other than Ji Sifan.
If she couldn’t detect the sarcasm in his tone, then it would really an she was lacking in intelligence.
Her encounter with Ji Sifan was completely unexpected, and she hadn’t thought there would be this al at all before eting him. So how did this man know about it?
Clenching her hand on the windowsill, she looked out at the traffic and the crowd, then spoke with certainty, "Lu Jingchen, did you have soone follow ?"
"Heh," the man on the other end of the phone let out a cold sneer, with an increasingly undisguised tone of mockery, as if to laugh it off, "Mrs. Lu, I don’t have the spare ti to have soone follow you."
After saying that, he hung up the phone the next second, as though he didn’t even want to spend an extra mont talking to her.
Song Qiao, "..." Although she couldn’t see his expression, she was very clear about his anger from the way he spoke and the speed with which he hung up the phone.
Looking sowhat bewildered at her phone which had gone dark, she displayed no change in expression and straightforwardly placed the phone back in her purse.
After all, she had done nothing wrong and was completely justified; wasn’t she accompanied by Qin Zhe, An Ke, and Lu An’an who had just left not long ago when she was dining with Ji Sifan?
Song Qiao felt that sotis this man’s anger was really inexplicable.
After washing her hands in the restroom again, she erged at ease, thinking of Ji Sifan, Qin Zhe, and An Ke waiting outside, and couldn’t help but quicken her step.
However, when she walked into the dining hall, a glance from the corner of her eye unintentionally swept across a man and a woman sitting by the window, chatting and laughing jovially.
So n seem unable to diminish their presence no matter how low-key they try to be; once they appear sowhere, they inevitably draw attention, even if they try to stay concealed.
So won, perhaps due to their aura or the halo they carry, seem to glow wherever they go, whatever they sit – even the largest pair of sunglasses couldn’t prevent people from recognizing her at a glance.
Really... what a coincidence.
No wonder that man knew about her conversation with Ji Sifan and the others; it turns out they were also here. Perhaps he had seen the scene where they were tussling in the hall?
Song Qiao stopped in her tracks, squinting slightly at the couple sitting discreetly in the corner by the window, and suddenly felt a sense that this man and woman were the real couple.
As if unconsciously, she inadvertently cast herself in the role of the third party.
Zuo Yuqing’s joyful smile shone like the stars, her pink lips parting to speak, apparently sharing so amusing story with the man opposite, while occasionally lowering her head to take a spoonful of dessert with the silver spoon in her hand.
Lu Jingchen’s presence was calm and distant, and although he scarcely spoke a word, perhaps because of Zuo Yuqing’s constant chattering and joking, a faint smile would occasionally grace his face, creating a relatively warm expression. In front of him sat a cup of coffee that he would stir occasionally with a spoon before taking a sip.
It was clear that the two had finished their al and were now enjoying dessert.
The restaurant was not very crowded at that mont. As waiters bustled about, Song Qiao stood quietly in the corner, observing the pair for a long while before finally grasping her purse and stepping towards the exit.
As Zuo Yuqing’s slender and fair fingers held the spoon, her gaze shifted and caught sight of Song Qiao carrying a dium-sized handbag, dressed in a high-neck knit sweater, walking towards the exit. She couldn’t help but curve her lips into a smile, then turned her attention back to Lu Jingchen and said with a laugh, "When is Yan’er coming back, did Xi Mohan tell you? I’ve been busy shooting a new movie lately and haven’t been in touch with Yan’er."
Without a flicker in his eyelids, Lu Jingchen replied indifferently, "Maybe in a few days."
"Oh." Zuo Yuqing showed no sign of embarrassnt or sadness in the face of Lu Jingchen’s indifference. After finishing her dessert, she started fiddling with her polished nails and then, with a coy and charming smile, suggested, "When Yan’er cos back, should we all go out for so fun? Just like old tis, it feels like it’s been a long ti since we did."
